Singer Zahara has come out guns blazing and is threatening to sue Somizi and the South African Music Awards for a bar comment made by Somizi.
Somizi, who co-hosted the awards told audiences that there was a bar at the after-party and that Zahara would be there, making reference to Zahara’s alcohol problems
Revealed Zahara in an Instagram post: “I only wish what I heard apon (sic) my return from Swaziland #BushfireFestival this past weekend about what Somizi said at the SAMAS is not true! Because if he did I am suing Somizi and the SAMAs for deformation (sic) of character I am tired of this.
She later told TshisaLIVE that she was really upset and offended by the remarks Somizi made at the awards.
“I don’t care if he was joking. At whose expense was the joke? This will hurt my image and could impact whether I get sponsorship deals or not. It is not funny and I want him to apologise,” she said.
Somizi is said to have apologised to Zahara during his Metro FM radio show.
