Five News Stories You May Have Missed Because of The Long Holiday

On any normal day you would have been in a business meeting, on a bus to South Africa or in the Streets hustling for the paper, but alas the gods gifted you with an abnormally long holiday.

Like hell you deserved it! While you had your data switched off so that you can commit your holiday sins uninhibited by annoying notifications about who is having a birthday on Christmas, there was a bit of some news you might have missed.

This probably missed you while you were busy consuming lunch enough to feed 4 people because it’s a holiday,here is a bit of what happened

Your grandma’s oldest serving Roja tied the knot on Saturday 24 December, and we must confess we never got a sniff of the happenings. 

 

The Warriors forgot the Yellow fever Vaccination

The country’s biggest Sports Page, DeMbare Dotcoms revealed that the Warriors were detained in Ivory Coast after they failed to produce Yellow Fever Vaccination Cards. 

They were told to pay and get the yellow fever vaccination but there was no money, however, the Ivorian Football Association intervened and the situation was addressed.

The match which was played on Boxing day ended in a goalless draw.

 

Sir Wicknell Almost Deported in the USA

Sententious businessman Wicknell Chivayo’s vacation holiday was almost cut short at the  J F Kennedy Airport after he was threatened with deportation.

The businessman revealed this on his facebook page saying the immigrationn officer wanted to send him back home because he was “very stubborn and disrespectful he keeps speaking in his home language.”

The immigration officer had asked him a lot of questions but chiefly his ties to the First family and Government.

Fortunately for him, his holiday was saved by a file picture of him and Former Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai.

Explained Wicknel: ” I then showed him pictures on my ipad of me sitting next to Morgan Tsvangirai. I said to him I’ve been to his office and his house on so many different occasions….. So the supervisor took my iPad with the MOGIDZA’s picture on the screen and goes with it then comes back after 10 minutes and says ok now we understand you it’s fine we will just let you in.”

 

ZIMRA employees to undergo polygraph testing

If you are a fan of the White House/CIA/FBI drama you definitely know the Lie detector tests which have become a popular feature in crime dramas.

The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority said it was implementing the polygraph testing of employees transferred to strategic locations in the authority starting with those transferred to Beitbridge Border Post.

According to Wikipedia a polygraph, popularly referred to as a lie detector, measures and records several physiological indices such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and skin conductivity while the subject is asked and answers a series of questions.

 

Andy Muridzo left for the UK

New found talent Andy Muridzo left for the United Kingdom where is to make his debut appearance at the “Festive Explosion UK Tour”

An exuberant Muridzo posted a few snaps on facebook with some of his band members.
