Zimbabwe crush UAE in the first ODI

Zimbabwe Chevrons opened the 4-ODI series against the United  Arab Emirates on a positive note at Harare sports club, winning the first One-Day International by 7 wickets.

It was a match that the host impressed both with the ball and the bat.

The Chevrons skipper Peter Joseph Moor won the toss and elected to field. The wicket had a lot of moisture due to the rains from the previous day and offered some sort of assistance to bowlers earlier on.

Zimbabwe bowling attack capitalised on the wicket condition making quick inroads on the UAE batting order especially the front line seamer Kyle Jarvis and Donald Tiripano who both claimed  2 wickets each.

UAE batting never got going in this match as wickets fell at regular intervals with only Mohammad Boota giving some sort of resistance by a knock of  36 Runs.

While chevron spin bowlers refused to be left of the party as off spin Brandon Mavute picked  2 wickets and Sikandar  Raza only 1 wicket.

Regis Chikabva reached a special milestone were he became the second wicketkeeper in the history of Zimbabwe after the legendary Andy Flower  take five catches in a single ODI.

Tendai Chatara posted the best bowling figures only going for 25 runs for his 3 wickets and was rightfully rewarded man of the match.

Zimbabwe batsman Sean Ervine carried on his impressive domestic   form into international cricket scoring 51 runs of 46 balls. Sadly Ervine gave away his wicket cheaply playing one shot too many
