Zimbabweans Welcome Starlink: New ISP to Shake Up the Market

Excitement is at an all-time high in Zimbabwe following the official launch of Starlink just before midnight on September 6.

Social media has been buzzing with people celebrating the arrival of the new internet service provider, feeling that current internet service providers (ISPs) have been overcharging them for years.

One provider was even charging around $230 per month for unlimited internet.

In contrast, Starlink is offering much more affordable options. The standard kit costs $350 to purchase, with a monthly subscription of $50, offering internet speeds as fast as 200 Mbps.

For those who need something more portable, the mini kit costs $200 and has a monthly subscription of $30, making it perfect for people on the go.

To order a Starlink kit, you need to visit their official website and pay using Apple Pay, Visa, or Mastercard.

You will also need to enter your address and pay an additional $23 for shipping and handling. The kit will arrive within 1-2 weeks.

The entry of Starlink is expected to shake up the market, adding competition to the existing ISPs.

As a result, consumers are likely to benefit, with other ISPs expected to lower their prices to remain competitive. Starlink’s presence could be a game changer in Zimbabwe’s internet landscape.
