Just Leo Unveils KUMMAWA: A Tribute to Africa’s Beauty and Respect

Africa comprises 54 sovereign states with various ingredients that entice non-African culture mongers despite the geographical barriers set by the former colonialists.

Artists play a pivotal role in educating, informing and entertaining the audience helping paint the original picture of the beauty in Africa and how its people operate in a communist manner.

With time artists from Zimbabwe have proved to be a force to reckon with as they are also on the verge of becoming internationally recognized by producing, and promoting content that fully represents their roots.

Djembe Monks, Jah Prayzer, and Tamy Moyo are some artists penetrating the international scene without any fear of identity crisis.

Just Leo with her soothing voice has managed to join the winning team of African ambassadors in promoting the richness of diverse culture and beautiful women in her debut video titled ‘KUMMAWA’ shot and chopped by Andy Cutta.

Addressing the first eyewitnesses at the video launch held in the leafy suburb of Belgravia in Harare, Just Leo expressed gratitude and showed eagerness to quench her fans with more Africanised content despite language barriers.

‘My heart is in Africa, I love the diversity the hot pot of culture that we have with every language that is there I’m fascinated, I might not be able to speak it but trust me I will learn how to sing it’, she said.

‘KUMMAWA means I travelled to the east and I saw very beautiful women and I travel to the east and I found respect in those women so the song basically means that in the east there is respect’, added Just Leo.

Andy Cutta takes one’s imagination on a journey in the beautiful gorge of the majestic Victoria Falls with breathtaking shots complimenting the beautiful nature and women of different shapes.

National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) graced the video launch showing support to upcoming artists who have potential for marketing and embracing the Zimbabwean culture, the symbolic features in the video fully represented the certain standards NACZ consider when selecting winners of the National Merit Awards (NAMA’S).

Communications and Marketing Manager of National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) Aggabu Nyabinde expressed gratitude and commended the efforts made by Just Leo on her recent ‘KUMMAWA’ video launch.

‘The video has got some interesting features that fully represent our aim in embracing and marketing Zimbabwe’s image to the region and the international stage, so congratulations to you Just Leo on the video I guarantee you and other curators support and of course take your craft to the next level as NACZ’, chuckled Agga.
