A Tradition in Sports
This initiative aligns ZIFA with practices seen in other sports leagues around the world, particularly in the United States.
In the NBA and NFL, for instance, the national anthem is a staple before games, serving as a moment of reflection and unity among players and fans alike.
This tradition not only honours the nation but also enhances the atmosphere of sporting events, creating a sense of community and shared values.
By adopting a similar approach, ZIFA aims to instil a deeper sense of national identity among players and supporters in Zimbabwean football.
The singing of the national anthem is expected to become a cherished ritual, reinforcing the connection between the sport and the nation.
