Irate CAPS United fans turned on head coach Lloyd Chitembwe following a disappointing 2-1 home defeat to Ngezi Platinum Stars on Sunday afternoon at Rufaro Stadium.
The loss, CAPS United’s third of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League campaign, sparked a furious reaction from the supporters, who made their frustrations clear — they want Chitembwe out.
Security personnel had to escort the embattled coach off the pitch and again as he left the stadium, with tensions running high among the home crowd.
Sunday’s result marked back-to-back losses for the Green Machine, who were also beaten by TelOne in Gweru the previous week.
The poor run of form sees CAPS United languishing in 16th place on the league table, just two points above the relegation zone.

While CAPS United struggled, the day belonged to Takesure Chiragwi and his high-flying Ngezi Platinum side.
A finish by Obriel Chirinda in the 40th minute gave the visitors the lead, before a sensational strike from Ashwin Karengesha in the second half sealed the win and sent the former champions to the top of the table.
CAPS United’s consolation goal came through Eric Manokore, who struck from a well-taken set piece outside the box.
