Zimbabwean Billionaire Strive Masiyiwa is set to take over Tshwane giants Supersport United according to various sources from South Africa.
It is believed that it’s almost a done deal and what’s pending is PSL executive approval of the purchase of the club.
Reports also believe Masiyiwa has no intentions of changing the club name.
It will be the billionaire’s first sporting accusation.
According to iDiski Times, SuperSport has long been mooted to be sold amidst the reported financial constraints at the club which has notably seen its business model change over the last decade.
Another consortium connected to Wits was linked to a potential takeover at the club but according to South African journalist Maskepe Matsebane, Masiyiwa is closing in on acquiring the club ahead of the 2022/23 season.
