Prince Edward Tigers off to St Stithians Festival

Prince Edward School Tigers are on the road this week as they will take part in the St Stithians Easter rugby festival in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Its set to be a grilling festival for the traditional rugby powerhouse as they got 3 tough games on their fixture list.

PE’s first encounter at the festival is against the host on the 18th of April which is poised to be an epic clash.

The last time these two schools played against each other was in 1999, Cape Town at the Bishops 150th Jubilee Rugby festival. Tigers came out top beating St Stithians 31-12.

The Tigers will be hoping they can repeat the heroics of the class of 1999 while their opponents will be on a revenge mission.

St Stithians have 7 Zimbabwean born players in their squad and play an expensive brand of rugby, their star player is fullback Munashe Chitezvi who likes to join the line a lot in attack.

Chitezvi has fancy footwork and has a habit of breaking tackles, he is one player PE would have to contain if they are to come out with a result in this match.

The Tigers second match is pencilled for Saturday 20 April against another strong outfit Park Town boys who have not had the best of 2019 so far and have been on the receiving end.

It has the potential to be a tightly contested match.

PE finishes off their tour with a clash against South African College Schools (SACS) who are a familiar opponent as they last played in 2018 in Harare and the Tigers lost the match 37-22
