Organisers of the 16th edition of the National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) to be held this Saturday have released a list of performers that will entertain the guests.
The awards show will be broadcasted live on Zimbabwe Television and proudly hosted by internationally acclaimed multi- award winning comedian Carl Joshua Ncube.
To spice up the event and to give it an artistic sparkle, guests will have a treat from the following artists celebrated musician Jah Prayzah, renowned visual artists Voti Thebe, Airforce percussion artists, song bird Noma Nkwali.
Shabach Entertainment, M & M Dance Factory, Multi-Award winning beatboxer ProBeats and scintillating dances from CHIPAWO.
Various artists, arts products and institutions who were nominated will walk away with accolades on the awards night from the total number of 95 nominees. A total of 35 winners will walk away with the coveted gold-plated NAMA trophy.
This year, nominees are from Harare, Bulawayo, Manicaland, Matabeleland South, and Masvingo. Recognition will be from the following categories Music, Literary Arts, Dance, Visual Arts, Film and Television, Theatre, Media and Spoken Word.
Also, special awards will be given that pay tribute to individuals and institutions that have made an impact in the development and promotion of the arts.
These are the National Arts Service Award, Arts Personality Award and Promoter of the Year. As has been the norm, there shall be a People’s Choice Award to cap the evening.
