Probably accepting that the only time he will hold the Oscar statue would be in his dream, Terry Bryant a daring thief decided to steal the gong.
According to reports Terry Bryant stole actress Frances McDormand‘s Oscar and shot a video of himself with the award just minutes before his arrest.
A representative for McDormand told CNN that an individual walked off with McDormand’s Oscar while she was at the Governor’s Ball, just following the awards ceremony.
TMZ who first broke the story posted a video of the thief posing with the statue and asking guests to take pictures if they wanted.
The celebrity blog also reported that Bryant has now been officially charged with the crime of felony grand theft and that the L.A. County D.A. has just filed the case.
Bryant is said to have taken Frances’ Oscar off her dinner table at the Governors Ball following the ceremony and then videotaped himself with the hardware. It’s unclear if he intended to take the Oscar out of the Beverly Hilton.
Frances McDormand previously won the Academy Award for best actress for her performance in “Fargo” in 1997. McDormand earned her second Oscar Sunday for her work in the drama “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.”
