NAMA17: MultiChoice Zimbabwe Pledges support to Film-makers

MultiChoice Zimbabwe has pledged to support local filmmakers so that the industry, which has shown signs of growth can realise its potential.

Liz Dziva, publicity and public relations manager of MultiChoice Zimbabwe, went on stage to present a trophy to one of the winners of the film and television categories at the recent NAMA Awards, with the bonus gift from MultiChoice Zimbabwe of Explora decoders not only to that recipient, but also to each of the winners of awards in all film and TV categories.

Speaking afterwards, she said: “We were delighted to help recognise the success of these winners and stimulate further interest in film and television productions from talented Zimbabwean film-makers.

This country has a wealth of such talent and the potential for growth in the production of films and television programmes is huge, and we are keen to do all we can to assist in realising this potential.”

Ms Dziva presented the award in the category Outstanding Screen Production, Full-Length Film, the winning entry for which was Kushata Kwemoyo,  directed by Shem Zemura. Winners of Explora decoders also included Outstanding Actress Kudzai Msungo (in Muzita Rababa); Outstanding Actor Charles Muzemba (in Kushata Kwemoyo);

Outstanding Music Video Over Again, produced by Vimbai Mukarati; Outstanding Screen Production (Television) Muzita Rababa, directed by Shem Zemura; Outstanding Screen Production – Short Film Ruvimbo’s Wedding, directed by Ben Mahaka.
