Hundreds of Bulawayo Mums given a Lavish Mother’s Day Treat

Bulawayo mums celebrated their Mothers day in style when they were treated to a five-star luncheon by their children based home and abroad.

“We asked ourselves what would be a better way to thank and show our appreciation than on Mothers day, so we decided to throw a Luncheon for our mothers in Bulawayo as their children living abroad,” said Sisa Senkosi.

Ladies from Uk, America, Australia, South Africa, Zimbabwe and even China came together and paid for their parents to be hosted for the event.

The event was at Cresta Lodge and on the day the parents had a red carpet, 3-course meal, goody bag, professional photography for all and transport collecting them from home and dropping them off in the evening.

“Originally it was meant to be a small little party but women kept asking to be part of it, joining and paying for their moms, sisters, aunties and grandmothers.

“We said pay for any woman who made an impact in your life and before we knew it over 150 moms were attending, added Sisa Senkosi.

The event was mainly coordinated by Za Mpofu in Australia and Sithandazile Dube based ko Bulawayo and was overseen by Sisa Senkosi.

The organisers also decided to adopt the ladies who live at Entembeni Old peoples home.

“We raised funds as a group to have a meal delivered to them it was unfortunate that due to their advanced age we could not take them to Cresta with us,” she said.

“But we managed to get them a winter goody bag which consisted of a blanket and tennis shoes among other things.

“After mother’s da,y we are already planning a fathers day too. We hope many men will join us in appreciating our fathers too.”
