Sekurutau gets a Presidential Facebeat as he eyes State House

Zimbabwe’s African Roots Music maestro and world-renowned sculptor-cum-businessman Bryn Mteki says he now looks presidential material after a makeover.

Just as many thought Mteki aka Sekurutau was not confident of winning the presidency, the man of song is proving to all and sundry that he isn’t backing off yet.

Unveiling his new look, Sekurutau took to Facebook saying he now sees himself as the next president.

“NEW LOOK after careful considerations on my new Job as the next Zimbabwean President I have been listening and paying attention to all Zimbabweans across the Globe.

“The issue is I have taken note of all your remarks my beloved fellow Zimbabweans . . . I finally started preparing (sic) for the inauguration Speech plus my artistic look with Blonde hair and earrings has to go (sic), and I started wearing nice suits.

“Nice Shoes. Let’s do it I know we can do it VOTE BRYN TAURAI MTEKI for PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF ZIMBABWE for Better Life “Mission Restore Zimbabwe”.

He then posted a picture of his new look and captioned them “#PECHEDU Sekurutauvatongozvipengerawozvawo”

Sekurutau will go down in the history books as the first artist and sculptor to run for presidency.

He is among the 23 presidential hopefuls who successfully submitted their nomination papers at the Harare Magistrates’ courts.

In what has become a trend the world over where celebrities and top footballers run for the highest offices in their countries, Sekurutau hopes to ride on his wave of his popularity as a shrewd artist-cum-businessman.

Sekurutau made his intentions to run for president public early in April in his independence message.

“I thank you all. I hope Zimbabwe will go far as I also look forward to becoming the next President of the Republic Of Zimbabwe,” he posted on his Facebook page.

Sekurutau, however, urged musicians to desist from attacking politicians but instead advise them.

Apart from music and sculpture, Sekurutau is a businessman and founder of BrynBrands with interests in retail supermarkets, bottle stores, nightclubs, real estate, butcheries and takeaways.

He also operates a transport business, mining and a clothing line, among others. Sekurutau recently launched BrynBrands Mvura and DOVI peanut butter.
