The festive season is almost upon us and it comes with all the exciting festivities and AfriBlocks are hosting the first edition of the Sneakers and Heels Gala on the 11th of December at Moto Republik.
In an exclusive interview with Zimbuzz recently, AfriBlocks Co-Founder and CEO Tongayi Choto revealed that the event was a platform for all fashion and shoe mongers to feed on.
“The Sneakers and Heels Gala is an event for people to come together and express their style with fresh sneakers and beautiful heels. It is also an opportunity to network and give back to the community as we start the festive season,” he said.
When asked on how they came up with the noble idea Tongayi said: “as a founder remaining engaged with the broader community is very important to me,we are committed to practicing social responsibility and altruism as a company.”
Sneakers and Heels Gala proceedings will benefit a Harare children’s home in a bid to bring something special for them during the festive season.
“We will be supporting a children’s home,and we have identified one to be announced in due course as we await for them to formally accept our proposal.
If we manage to raise more,we will extend to more children’s home”,he added.
The event has potential of accomodating various fashion stakeholders and gaining momentum according to the organisers.
“This is the first of many, we look forward to keeping doing this and growing the event into the premier fashion event in Zimbabwe,the more people we get involved,the more people we can help,” said Tongayi.
Superstar Dj Selekta Base is set to grace the event alongside Reverb 7 and Tatenda G.
