Organisers of Zimfest have confirmed that Jnr Spragga, Tamy Moyo, Delroy and Tsungai Tsikirai have been added to this year’s line-up, joining Jah Prayzah and Sulu Chimbetu. Popular comedian Comic Pastor will also be in attendance, bringing his trademark humour to the festival.
The family-friendly event will take place on 25 July at Delapré Abbey in Northamptonshire, a venue chosen for its improved accessibility, including better rail connections and more parking capacity.
What began as a celebration of Zimbabwean culture in the UK has become one of the biggest events in the diaspora calendar, attracting thousands from across the UK and beyond.
The festival brings together music, art and culture, creating a vibrant celebration of Southern African identity and heritage.
This year’s festival will also include a tribute to Hilton Mendelssohn, one of the founding members of Zimfest.
In 2001, Hilton helped create what would become more than a festival. Through Zimfest, he helped build a home away from home for Zimbabweans in the UK.
The tribute will honour his life, leadership and lasting contribution to the Zimbabwean community, as well as the foundations he helped build for Zimfest.
Tawanda Chiwira, spokesperson for Redcliff Management said: “For many people, Zimfest is more than a date in the calendar. It is a connection to home, community and shared identity.
This year, alongside the celebrations, we will also take time to remember Hilton Mendelssohn, whose contribution to the festival remains part of its story.”
With high attendance expected, festival-goers are being urged to plan ahead and book parking early.
Limited premium on-site parking is available for £30 if booked in advance, while a range of lower-cost off-site options are available nearby. Organisers say booking early will help reduce congestion and make arrivals smoother on the day.
Tickets are still available but selling fast. General admission tickets are currently available from £62.50, with a range of premium options also on offer, including VIP experiences from £145.
Festival-goers can also enhance their experience with drinks package pre-orders and access to the exclusive Sky Terrace, a premium experience with dedicated bar service. Tickets are currently priced from £325, with limited availability
