The under-fire Zimbabwe Warriors striker Tino Kadewere seems to have hinted at retirement following the justified criticism of his continued inclusion in the national team.
Kadewere has scored only three goals in 25 appearances for the Warriors, and his selection has often divided opinion among fans and pundits.
In a recent Instagram story, Kadewere posted a picture of himself with the caption #TheLastDance, accompanied by a quote from Drake’s song “God’s Plan”:
“I don’t wanna die for them to miss me
Yes, I see the things that they wishin’ on me
Hope I got some brothers that outlive me
They gon’ tell the story, shit was different with me
God’s plan”
This cryptic post has led many to speculate that the striker may be considering retirement from international football, perhaps even as soon as the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
Zimbabwe plays Lesotho at Orlando Stadium next Friday in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers before clashing with Bafana Bafana in Bloemfontein four days later.
