Prophet Magaya Unveils Groundbreaking $320,000 Sponsorship for Women’s Football Super League

The Heart Group, owned by Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries founder and Yadah FC owner Prophet Walter Magaya, last night unveiled a $320,000 sponsorship deal for the Women’s Football Super League, in what is seen as a groundbreaking act of benevolence for the ladies’ league.

The Women’s League has had no principal sponsor for years and will now be branded as the Heart League.

This historic sponsorship includes providing two sets of uniforms for each of the 16 teams in the Heart League.

Additionally, the sponsorship will cover the inaugural 16-team tournament, where the last eight teams will stay at the Yadah Hotel and use the Heart Stadium facilities.

The First Lady, Dr. Auxillia Mangagwa, was the guest of honour at the event, represented by Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Angeline Gata.

What the Guests said:

Guest of Honour Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa: “Let us work in unity, just like tomatoes tied in a plastic bag. Be your sister’s keeper. Thank you, Prophet Walter Magaya, for spearheading this sponsorship initiative for the Zimbabwe Women’s Soccer League.” (she was represented by the Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Angeline Gata)

Prophet Walter Magaya: “We are here to lend a helping hand in sports, particularly in sponsoring women. We have noticed that women have lacked sponsorship over the past decade, and we want to uplift them by offering our support. If the opportunity arises, we are willing to do even more.”

Zimbabwe Women’s Soccer League Chairperson Theresa Maguraushe: “To our revered sponsor, soon to be unveiled, thank you for responding to the cries of the girl child’s voice from the wilderness.”

Deputy Minister of Sport, Emily Jesaya: “This evening, we shine a special light on the empowerment of women in sports. When we empower our female athletes, the nation reaps the rewards. I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who has worked so hard to make this a reality.”

ZIFA Chief Executive Officer, Yvonne Manwa: “Today is not just a day for the launch of sponsorship; it is the beginning of a brighter and more inclusive future for women’s football.”

Zimbabwe Olympic Committee CEO Marlene Gadzirayi: “This sponsorship marks a significant milestone in the journey of Women’s Football in Zimbabwe. With dedicated sponsorship, we are confident that the league will continue to grow and attract more players. With improved resources, our women will have access to better facilities. We are confident that we can produce a squad capable of competing on the world stage.”
