Dynamos Begin Chibuku Super Cup Defence in Preliminary Round Clash Against Yadah

Defending champions Dynamos will launch their Chibuku Super Cup title defence from the preliminary round a rare position for the Harare giants as they aim to claim the trophy for a third consecutive time.

Dynamos face Yadah on August 6 at Ngoni Stadium in what promises to be a high-stakes opener. A win would see them progress to the first round, where they are scheduled to meet Simba Bhora.

The Chibuku Super Cup draw, held on Thursday afternoon, was based on the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League standings following Match Day 17.

Another preliminary match will see Triangle United take on Kwekwe United at Mandava Stadium on August 7.

First-round fixtures will follow closely, scheduled for August 9 and 10.

Tournament sponsors Delta Beverages, through their Chibuku Super brand, have put forward a prize pool of US$350,000.

The winners will take home US$75,000, with the runners-up earning US$50,000. The rest of the funds will be distributed among the remaining 16 participating teams based on their performance.

Dynamos’ campaign begins with added pressure as they face the possibility of being relegated from the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
