Zimbabwe will face hosts Afghanistan and Bangladesh in a One-Day International (ODI) tri-series before taking on Afghanistan in three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) and two Test matches during an extensive tour of the United Arab Emirates in October and November.
The ODI tri-series will begin on 17 October, with Zimbabwe taking on Bangladesh in the opening match.
Zimbabwe will then face Afghanistan on 19 October, before the hosts meet Bangladesh in the final round-robin fixture on 21 October.
The top two teams will advance to the final on 23 October.
Zimbabwe and Afghanistan will then contest a three-match T20I series, with the encounters scheduled for 27 and 29 October and 1 November.
The two sides will subsequently switch to the longest format for two Test matches, set for 5-9 November and 13-17 November.
The tour will provide Zimbabwe with valuable competition across all three formats as the national side continues to build depth and gain experience in different playing conditions.
Zimbabwe Cricket Managing Director Givemore Makoni welcomed the confirmation of the extensive programme.
“This is an important tour for Zimbabwe, offering our players high-quality competition across all three formats,” he said.
“The ODI tri-series will test us against two strong sides, while the two Tests are especially valuable as we continue seeking more regular opportunities in the longest format.
“We sincerely appreciate the Afghanistan Cricket Board for hosting this programme and the Bangladesh Cricket Board for their cooperation.
“We look forward to a competitive and exciting tour.”
Afghanistan Cricket Board Chief Executive Officer Naseeb Khan said the upcoming assignments would provide his country with valuable multi-format competition.
“We are pleased to confirm this important period of international cricket for the Afghanistan National Team,” he said.
“Playing Bangladesh and Zimbabwe across different formats will provide our players with valuable competitive opportunities and offer our supporters an exciting period of international cricket.
“The Afghanistan Cricket Board remains committed to providing our national team with regular, high-quality international cricket.
“We highly value our relationships with the Bangladesh Cricket Board and Zimbabwe Cricket and appreciate their cooperation in making these important assignments possible.”
Before Zimbabwe arrive in the UAE, Afghanistan and Bangladesh will contest a one-off Test from 9-13 October.
