The Zimbabwe Warriors have been drawn in Group C of the CAF World Cup Qualifiers together with rivals Bafana Bafana and heavyweights the Super Eagles.
Group C also features Benin, Rwanda and Lesotho.
They are making a return to international football after FIFA lifted a ban imposed on Zimbabwe in February 2022.
The qualification campaign begins on 13 November 2023.
Nine group winners will automatically qualify for the finals, one team will enter the FIFA play-off tournament
Qatar 22 semi-finalists Morocco will face Zambia, Congo, Tanzania, Niger and Eritrea on the road to FIFA World Cup 26 after being drawn in Group E.
Senegal, who were beaten by England in the Round of 16 at the most recent edition, are in Group B and will tackle Congo DR, Mauritania, Togo, Sudan and South Sudan.
Group C features both Nigeria and 2010 World Cup hosts South Africa, along with Benin, Zimbabwe, Rwanda and Lesotho.
