Newcomers Bikita Minerals registered their first win of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League with a victory at Rufaro Stadium, which was hosting its first match in 5 years.
Trickery youngster Chris Makambira scored a low drive in the 28th minute after breaking out on the left flank in a two-versus-one situation.
Makambira had shown signs of trouble from the onset, and it was no surprise he was the eventual scorer.
Caps United would respond a few minutes later with a shot that was deflected back into play before another attempt from the rebound was saved and cleared from the Bikita box.
Besides the scoreline, the match was evenly balanced with both teams taking turns to enjoy possession.
Bikita almost buried the homeside when a 43rd-minute header by Denis Nhongo went into the net but was ruled for offside.
Caps United came from the break as a resurgent side, enjoying much of the possession, which could have resulted in a goal as they hit the post twice.
Meanwhile, FC Platinum now sits on 7 points at the top of the league after a 2-2 draw against Chicken Inn at Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane.
