The European Film Festival Zimbabwe (#EuroFilmFestZW) has announced the launch of the Fifth Edition of the Bioskop! Short Film Competition Zimbabwe.

This exciting competition offers a unique platform to all aspiring and established filmmakers in Zimbabwe to showcase their talent and have their work seen on a national stage.

The Bioskop! competition runs alongside the prestigious European Film Festival Zimbabwe (#EuroFilmFestZW), one of Zimbabwe’s leading film industry events.

This year, the festival celebrates the power of cinema through the theme “Beyond Boundaries: Empowering Women Through Film.” Bioskop! reflects this theme by inviting entries that explore the captivating world of gender and staying connected.

Aspirants can submit short films that break stereotypes and reveal the multifaceted beauty of diversity. Whether fictional narratives or documentaries, delve into the power of human connection, be it between friends, family, or strangers.

“Showcase how people come together to overcome challenges and make a difference. Through the lens of gender, explore the complexities of identity and representation, creating a narrative that reflects the rich tapestry of humanity,” said the organisers.

“We welcome films across various genres, including animation, documentary, and live action. We understand that some filmmakers have limited resources. Be innovative, work with what you have, and tell us your captivating story.”
