Leading Urban music radio station Power FM have partnered with top lifestyle brand Avion to host the inaugural Power FM Avion Music Awards (PAMA).
The awards were launched Tuesday afternoon at the ZBC Pockets Hill.
Speaking to the media ZBC Public Relations manager Mrs Kanonge said the awards were going to be the biggest in the country.
“Positioned to be Zimbabwe’s biggest, most prestigious and glamorous awards event, the Power FM Avion Music Awards were created to acknowledge and celebrate outstanding performers in the music and entertainment industry,” she said.
Mrs Kanonge said that over the past 14 years, Power FM has been been the biggest promoter of local music and had pioneered strong brands.
The partnership of Power FM and lifestyle brand Avion looks set to offer an alternative to the traditional entertainment ceremonies in the country.
How it works
There are going to be seventeen (17) categories to be contested for.
All the winners in the 17 categories will be decided by a public vote via an SMS.
How to enter
As from Monday next week artists will be invited to register their interest in the awards by submitting entries for various categories.
Artists may collect and submit entry forms from their nearest ZBC offices around the country. Entries will also be submitted on an online system that will be provided.
Nominees‘ Announcement
Voting in all categories will begin 0000hrs on 17 December 2018 and will close at 2359hrs on 31 December 2018.
After closure of the voting pool, the official nominees will be announced via Power FM, ZTV ZBC News and ZBC digital platforms and via various media outlets.
Adjudication
The adjudicators will be tasked with critically evaluating all submissions by artists for the awards. They will evaluate the submissions, to come up with a final five nominees for each category. A tolal of six adjudicators will be selected for the process. These will be announced in due course.
When is the event.
The Power FM Avion Music Awards ceremony will take place at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) at a date to be announced.
The event will run for 3 hrs live on ZBC TV and Power FM
