Zimbabwe Warriors head coach Kalisto Pasuwa, together with his skipper have warned the Red Foxes of Algeria not to underrate the Southern African region’s representatives at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations tournament when the two sides square off in Group B opening match on Sunday.
Speaking ahead of the Group B opener with Africa’s fourth best team, Pasuwa warned the North Africans, saying they should underrate his charges at their own peril as the Warriors were out to prove a point.
“We won our group and deserve to be here,” said Pasuwa.
The Warriors gaffer is of the idea that his squad is out to prove a point.
“We are taking it match by match. This may be a chance for some of our players to be seen at this stage. Hopefully, by the end of the tournament, we will have two or three players playing abroad, and they have to deliver and show character,” said the national team gaffer.
The history-making Zimbabwean coach warned Khama Billiart and Knowledge Musona not to be overwhelmed by fame, but instead to remain positive ahead of the tie.
“We have cover for Nakamba but we will miss him. Khama we have been talking to him, he is a man to watch and should be positive in whatever he does, same as with Musona is one of our regulars and he too needs to be very positive,” said Pasuwa.
