Martin Boka departs for National Team Camp

Croatian based handball player Martin Sebastiano Boka is looking forward to a challenge as the lads troop in for the European Handball Junior Championships set for Montenegro.

Boka will be part of a 23 man squad in the Croatian Under 17 for Sunday Camp.

“I’m mostly looking forward to meeting new friends, learning new things from the staff and having fun playing handball,” he told Zimbuzz Sports just before leaving for camp.

The 17-year old who plays his club handball for RK Poreč as a centre-back has been going through individual training as he prepares himself for the national team challenge.

“I have been training everyday going to the gym and running, lots of running because i think that running and working on my stamina will be what they will be expected from us in this camp,” said Boka.

His club coach Matija Radakovié believes the national team call up is a reward for the hard work he has put in.

“Martin took large steps forward in his last two years, in terms of his handball performance and knowledge,” he told a local publication this week.

“It’s just a reward for all the hard work he has put in, and stimulation to work even harder” said the RK Poreč coach.

Boka said his hope was to be paced against stronger opponents like France and Norway.
