The Borrowdale Racecourse was abuzz with energy and anticipation on Saturday as scores of Zimbabweans braved the chilly weather to witness the highly anticipated OK Grand Challenge Promotion.
The annual event, which has become a crowd favourite, once again delivered an impressive lineup of prizes, with a staggering 50 vehicles up for grabs, with various prizes valued at over USD 1 million.
The grand prize, a Ford Ranger XLT double cab, was awarded to Cathbert Magora from Karoi, who struck it lucky on the day.
The promotion also included more than 40 household Zimbabwean brands, further adding to the excitement and diversity of the event.
This year, the challenge expanded its reach by including OKmart for the second time, bringing the total number of participating outlets to 60.
The day wasn’t just about winning big, as the event also featured a thrilling horse race, the $80,000 OK Grand Challenge, which was won by three-year-old, Buster Barnes.
The victory denied Castle Tankard winner and favourite, Raffles, a Grade One double.
The event also played host to a star-studded lineup of Zimbabwean musical artists, including Jah Prayzah, Feli Nandi, Nutty O, Dadza D, and the Chillspot family, who kept the crowd energized and dancing throughout the chilly and windy day.
