Kingdom World Tour Harare: A prayer meeting disguised as a concert

Forget the cancel culture!

Kirk Franklin and Maverick City Music’s Kingdom Tour Harare turned out to be a divine time of worship as attendees took time to pray for the nation aside of singing along to their playlist music.

It was New Life Covenant’s Bishop Tudor Bismark who opened the meeting with prayer before hostess and worship leader, Rorisang Thandekiso, led the thousands gathered into a special prayer for the nation.

In a spiritually charged tone, Rorisang compelled the audience to pray for the nation, specifically, the leaders, the economy, the education system and law enforcement.

This call turned the Glamis Arena into  church as many burst into prayer seeking for God’s face in the nation.

Even when Maverick City (Chandler Moore, Todd Galberth, Naomi Raine together with Tim Godfrey and Kirk Franklin) came through, they were all ready to lead worship and there was a serious move of the spirit of God.

People were praying as Naomi Raine was singing The Story I Tell. Tears were flowing on cheeks as others were worshipping to songs like I Trust in God, Firm Foundation, Promises, Jireh, Bless Me and He won’t Fail among others.

Aside of the worship, there were other interesting moments like when Kirk Franklin took to the keys – as all the musicians sat on chairs with the band quiet as if to take a rest – and started playing as the whole of the Glamis Arena was singing My Life is Your Hands.

Chandler Moore then took to the keys and invited Todd Galberth to sing Million Little Miracles and the crowd sang to every note.

The stadium also sang Chandler Moore’s new song, Omemma, and he gladly played along although it was not part of the set.

Kirk Franklin also dazzled with hits such as Imagine Me, I Smile and Hosanna Forever.

Vokal Ex

Nigerian artist, Tim Godfrey, who was announced late to be part of this tour brought in energy with his rendition of Wahamba Nathi and his songs Very Big God, Nara and Onaga.

Local Acts in support also came guns blazing with sizzling performances. Ezekiel Paul did not disappoint and neither did Covenant Praise.

It was Vokal Ex from Bulawayo who left the crowd wanting for more with their version on We are Ready for Jerusalem.

They also did a medley of Shona songs which included Munozoriona Denga and Tariro yenyu.

Apart from the music, the stage was well organised and sound was impeccable with a few to none glitches.

The show was indeed worth the while!
