The worlds of cricket and pop music are set to collide this Saturday, September 7th, 2024, at the Harare Sports Club.
As the NPL T20 Blast reaches its thrilling conclusion, fans are in for a double treat with not just high-octane cricket action, but also chart-topping musical performances.
Two of Zimbabwe’s hottest pop sensations, Tamy and Voltz JT, are slated to perfom at the tournament’s grand finale.
The cherry on top? Entrance to this event is absolutely free, and hip hop artist YOZ will be the supporting act.
Fresh off the release of their latest albums, both Tamy and Voltz JT are riding high on the charts.
Tamy’s “Bold,” dropped just a month ago, has been making waves with the standout single “Kwatinoenda” making a lot of noise in the streets.
Voltz JT’s “N.O.P Makoni,” released only a week ago, has already produced a fan favourite in “Gara ndichauya,” featuring the talented Nyasha David.
The incorporation of musical performances into short-format cricket games has become something of a tradition, and this winning combination of sport and music has proven to be a major draw card, attracting both die-hard cricket fans and music aficionados to the stands.
Meanwhile, Westside and Gladiators seal top-four spots as thrilling finale beckons.

Westside won by five wickets
One over from Mashford Shungu and a fine fifty from Clive Chitumba helped Westside to shatter Rangers’ unbeaten record in the NPL T20 Blast at Takashinga Sports Club on Tuesday and gain a five-wicket victory over the log leaders.
The victory secured the Mutare-based side a top-four finish which will see them take on the third-placed Gladiators in an eliminator match scheduled for 6.00 pm at Harare Sports Club on Thursday.
Earlier at the same venue, table-toppers Rangers and runners-up Takashinga Patriots 1 will face off in a qualifier match set to start at 1.45 pm to decide the first team to book a place in the tournament final.
At 6.00 pm on Friday, the losing team from the first qualifier will play the winners of the eliminator match in a battle for the other spot in the final.
If the very last round-robin matches are anything to go by, the stage has been set for a thrilling finale.

Gladiators won by nine wickets
Five wickets from Malcom Chikuhwa and a dazzling 70 from Lennox Chando were the main features of Gladiators’ nine-wicket victory over Rainbow at Old Hararians Sports Club on Tuesday.
Gladiators lost four wickets for 35 to the bowling of Chikuhwa and Cromen Zinyama before a good innings of 46 off 34 balls from Clive Imbayago, helped by Terrence Makoroma with a useful 16, added 66 for the fifth wicket.
But Chikuhwa came on again to end the innings for 133 in the final over, his figures being five wickets for 27.
Zinyama had three for 13.
Chando came out all guns blazing as Gladiators chased this target, and he scored 70 out of 90 for the first wicket with Munya Chingoruma, facing only 33 balls and hitting two sixes and 10 fours.
Chingoruma (28 not out) and Panashe Taruvinga (22 not out) finished the job without further loss and with almost four overs in hand.
The victory ensured Gladiators finished third on the NPL T20 Blast standings, setting up a clash against Westside in an eliminator match scheduled for Thursday night at Harare Sports Club.
