Zimbabwe and Cameroon drew 0-0 in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualification Group J match at the Mandela National Stadium in Uganda on Tuesday evening.
The draw left the Warriors placed third in the group standings, having drawn their first two matches.
Zimbabwe will square off with Namibia home and away when the qualifiers resume in October 2024.
The Indomitable Lions, on the other hand, are placed second in the group standings having recorded a win and a draw.
Cameroon will face off with Kenya home and away next month.
The Warriors got off to a good start and they created the first real chance of the game when Marshall Munetsi set up Khama Billiat who missed the target four minutes into the match.
The Indomitable Lions finished the first half strongly and they had a chance to break the deadlock in the 44th minute, but Vincent Aboubakar ballooned his effort over the crossbar.
Andre Onana became the busier of the two goalkeepers after the restart as the Manchester United star denied Munetsi whose headed attempt lacked power in the 57th minute.
Zimbabwe who are playing under new coach Michael Nees had five shots on target while Cameroon didn’t register any.
Vincent Aboubakar was kept under lock in solid defensive display by the Warriors.
Billiat was also denied by Onana who pulled off a great save to deny the Yadah FC forward in the 64th minute and. ultimately, the score ended in a 0-0 draw as Zimbabwe and Cameroon shared the spoils.
