Delta Beverages Donates 100 Hospital Beds Nationwide, Begins Rollout at Sally Mugabe Hospital

Delta Beverages has launched a nationwide health support initiative with the donation of 100 hospital beds, beginning with a handover ceremony at Sally Mugabe Hospital on Wednesday.

The contribution, made through Delta’s flagship brand Castle Lager, is part of a broader corporate social responsibility effort tied to the 10th anniversary of the National Castle Lager Braai Day.

The beds will be distributed across Zimbabwe’s ten provinces, with the Harare handover marking the first in a series of planned deliveries.

Speaking at the ceremony, Irimayi Muzorewa, Delta Corporation Marketing Director, said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to giving back to communities that support its business.

“We are pleased to be here today to fulfil a commitment made through our flagship brand, Castle Lager… to give back meaningfully to the ten provinces that participated and made our milestone celebration a success,” Mr Muzorewa said.

The donation comes at a time when public health institutions in Zimbabwe continue to face resource constraints, particularly in critical equipment.

Delta said the beds are intended to improve patient care and support healthcare workers in delivering essential services.

“We pledged to donate one hundred state-of-the-art hospital beds, which will be distributed across the ten provinces of the country,” the representative said, adding that the company remains focused on “supporting national development and investing in the well-being of the communities that form the foundation of our success.”

At Sally Mugabe Hospital, one of the country’s largest public health facilities, the handover was attended by senior medical staff, including Chief Medical Officer Mr. Mungani and Clinical Director Dr. Chifamba, alongside Delta executives and members of the media.

The company said it hopes the donation will contribute to improving both patient comfort and the overall quality of care.

“We trust that this donation will support your ongoing efforts to deliver quality healthcare and enhance patient comfort across your facility,” said Irimayi Muzorewa.

Delta also acknowledged the role of healthcare workers, expressing appreciation for their service.

“We extend our sincere gratitude to you and your dedicated staff for the invaluable service you continue to provide to our nation,” he added.

The rollout of hospital beds across the remaining provinces is expected to continue in the coming weeks, forming part of a wider push by private sector players to complement public healthcare efforts.

As Zimbabwe’s health system navigates ongoing challenges, initiatives such as this highlight the role of corporate partnerships in addressing infrastructure gaps while strengthening community support systems.
