As families prepare to celebrate Father’s Day on June 21, Rainbow Tourism Group (RTG) has launched a nationwide lineup of dining, entertainment and leisure experiences aimed at honouring fathers across its hospitality properties.

The hospitality group announced a range of curated events spanning Victoria Falls, Harare, Bulawayo, Kadoma and Nyanga, offering everything from traditional Zimbabwean cuisine and braai experiences to outdoor adventures and family-friendly activities.

The initiative reflects RTG’s efforts to create memorable experiences while recognising the role fathers play within families and communities.

At Victoria Falls Rainbow Hotel, guests will be treated to a traditional hot pot dining experience featuring local favourites such as mazondo, road runner chicken and hayifiridzi. The poolside package, priced at US$30, includes a complimentary local beer for fathers.

In Bulawayo, the Bulawayo Rainbow Hotel will host a Father’s Day buffet on its Vista Balcony, serving grilled meats including boerewors, marinated chicken skewers, pork chops and beef steaks.

Guests will also enjoy live entertainment, while prizes will be awarded to the best-dressed father. A takeaway option has also been introduced for families choosing to celebrate at home.

Meanwhile, Kadoma Hotel & Conference Centre is combining dining and family entertainment through a Father’s Day buffet featuring a three-course meal, live music and interactive activities for children.

The hotel has also planned father-versus-child games and will screen the Spain versus Saudi Arabia FIFA World Cup match at its Executive Bar.

In Harare, the New Ambassador Hotel will host a Father’s Day Braai Luncheon at the Bird and Bottle Restaurant. Running throughout the afternoon, the event will feature grilled specialties, complimentary beer for fathers and prizes for the best-dressed guests.

For families seeking an outdoor escape, Montclair Resort and Conference Centre in Nyanga is offering a blend of adventure and relaxation.

Activities include hiking, quad biking and golf at the nearby Claremont Golf Club, followed by a specially prepared Sunday lunch overlooking the Eastern Highlands landscape.

Victoria Falls’ A’Zambezi River Lodge is taking a different approach by combining dining with nature experiences. The riverfront property will host a Father’s Day deck celebration featuring a buffet, sunset views and opportunities to spot wildlife along the Zambezi River.

Families can further enhance the experience through river cruises operated by Batoka Safaris or guided rainforest tours conducted by Heritage Expeditions Africa.

The Father’s Day offerings come as Zimbabwe’s hospitality sector continues to diversify its leisure and lifestyle experiences, increasingly targeting family celebrations and special occasions as a key growth area.

With options ranging from urban dining experiences to outdoor adventures in some of the country’s most scenic destinations, RTG is positioning Father’s Day as an opportunity for families to spend quality time together while celebrating the fathers and father figures in their lives.
