The mining town of Shurugwi was a hive of activity as it hosted the Midlands Province leg of the Chibuku Neshamwari Traditional Dance Festival at Vital Lounge.
The Nyau dance dominated the provincial finals, with both the first and second positions going to this genre.
Mkango Malawi Nyau Club came first and will represent the Midlands Province in the finals. In second position was Undi Gure, who displayed exciting Zambian Nyau routines.
Pasichigare Kandodo, a Mhande dance group, came in third position.
This coming Saturday, June 22nd, the provincial finals come to the capital as PaDziva Camp and Caravan plays host to Harare.
The following week, on June 29th, it will be Mutare’s turn to decide their provincial champion at Watsomba, at Mandel Bar.
