All Set for an Explosive Chibuku Neshamwari National Finals at Mucheke Stadium

The cultural extravaganza that is Chibuku Neshamwari Traditional Dance Festival 2024 gears up for its grand finale at Mucheke Stadium in Masvingo on the 27th of July.

 

This year’s edition, which began on the 27th of May with provincial competitions, has already captivated audiences across Zimbabwe, and the national finals promise to be an unforgettable spectacle.

The festival has seen nine provincial competitions so far, with the final provincial showdown set to take place on the 13th of July in Bulawayo at Phekiwe Bar.

These events have not only drawn significant crowds but have also provided a fantastic platform for showcasing the immense talent of Zimbabwe’s traditional dance groups.

The competitions have also created valuable sales opportunities for the hosting outlets, adding to the excitement and enthusiasm among consumers.

As the anticipation builds, preparations for the national finals are in full swing. The grand finale will see ten exceptional dance groups from various provinces compete for the coveted top prize. The competition will be fierce, with each group bringing their unique style and flair to the stage.

The groups that have made it to the national finals are:

Mash East: Nyaungwe Dance Group (Mbende)
Mat South: Bolamba (Setapa)
Mat North: Pezhuba Pachena (Nsumbuke Dance)
Mash Central: Dzimbahwe Nengoma (Chinyambera)
Harare: Culture Warriors (Dinhe)
Masvingo: Gango (Mbakumba)
Midlands: Mkango Malawi (Nyau)
Manicaland: Dapuraunanzva Arts Ensemble (Mbakumba)
Mash West: Budiriro Arts (Mhande)

The stakes are high, with the first prize set at a whopping US$15,000, the second prize at US$10,000, and the third prize at US$7,500.

The event will also feature captivating performances by some of Zimbabwe’s top musical talents, including Jah Prayzah, Killer T, and Tocky Vibes.
