Burning Spear to Engage Fans and Rasta Communities in Zimbabwe

Jamaican roots reggae singer-songwriter Burning Spear and his full band have confirmed their arrival in Zimbabwe for their One People Africa Tour 2024.

 

According to the local show organizers, Friends of Jamaica, who are working hand in hand with Sound System Club, Burning Spear and his band will jet into Zimbabwe this Wednesday at 16:20 hrs at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport.

Burning Spear is scheduled to perform at Glamis Arena on the 18th of October 2024, with gates opening at 4 PM.

“Several radio and television interviews have been lined up for Burning Spear and his band,” said Nev Bennet, one of the organizers.

“He is also expected to visit some of the Rasta communities in the high-density suburbs and meet some of his fans.”

In a recent interview with reggae producer and presenter Terrence Mapurisana live on ZBC Classic263, Burning Spear confirmed that he will also be performing in Johannesburg, South Africa; Lusaka, Zambia; Lilongwe, Malawi; and Nairobi, Kenya under the One People Africa Tour 2024.

Winston Rodney, aka Burning Spear, is a reggae music icon and a two-time Grammy Award winner. With a career spanning over five decades, he is known for his powerful and soulful voice, delivering messages of unity, love, peace, and social justice.

The concert promises to be an unforgettable experience, with Burning Spear expected to perform his classic hits like “Marcus Garvey,” “Slavery Days,” and “Man in the Hills,” not forgetting songs from his latest album, No Destroyer, which has just been nominated for a Grammy Award.

His music has inspired generations, and this event is a rare opportunity to witness a true legend in action.

Some of the supporting artists lined up for the concert include Transit Crew, Mannex Motsi, and Feli Nandi, among others.
