The Mighty Zambezi Lager Bonfire Festival, a fixture on the country’s entertainment calendar before its four-year hiatus, is set to return on July 4 at Donnybrook Park in Harare, promising a day and night of music, outdoor experiences and the communal atmosphere that made the event a fan favorite.

Organized by Delta Beverages through its Zambezi Lager brand, the festival’s return marks the revival of a signature lifestyle event that celebrated Zimbabwe’s love of the outdoors, storytelling and live entertainment.

“The Mighty Zambezi Lager Bonfire Festival has always been more than just an event; it is a unique lifestyle and cultural experience made for our Zambezians,” the company said in a statement announcing the festival’s return.

“It brings us together to enjoy Zambezi Lager and celebrate the great outdoors, music and storytelling, while building connections around the warmth of one large, unifying bonfire.”

Dubbed “Zimbabwe’s Own Bonfire,” the event will run from midday until 2 a.m., transforming Donnybrook Park into a winter entertainment destination centered around a massive bonfire and a lineup of activities that organizers say will be unveiled in the coming weeks.

To build anticipation ahead of the main event, Zambezi Lager is taking the festival on the road with a series of Bonfire Micro Events that will reconnect the brand with fans across the country.

The mini-events will begin in Kadoma at Odyssey Lodge on June 13 before moving to Hartsfield in Bulawayo on June 20 and concluding at The Jam Tree in Harare on June 27.

The roadshow is intended to rekindle the festival’s spirit and build momentum for its long-awaited return.

Tickets for the main event have been priced at $20 for general admission and $50 for a limited number of VIP passes. Organizers said tickets are available through Click n Pay platforms and selected Liquor Supplies outlets nationwide.

Additional details, including the entertainment lineup and other attractions, are expected to be announced through Zambezi Lager’s official platforms in the coming weeks.

The return of the Mighty Zambezi Lager Bonfire Festival comes as Zimbabwe’s events sector continues to rebound, with organizers increasingly reviving large-scale experiences that blend music, culture and lifestyle.

“We are excited, and preparations are well underway to bring back Zimbabwe’s Own Bonfire, the ultimate winter celebration,” the company said.
