DANCE WITH CELEBRITIES On World Aids Day

Jibilika Dance Trust are hosting a special dance class on Thursday 1 December 2016 to mark World AIDS Day at the Jibilika Dance Academy at B2C Co-working space Batanai Mall.

The hip hop, Afro-House and Dancehall dance class will be a fun and exciting session featuring at least 40 confirmed celebrities and stars in the arts, media and business. A handful of fans will also get a rare chance to dance with their celebrities.

Some of the confirmed stars include: Chamu Chiwanza, Tammy Moyo, Boss Kedha, Miss Mona (Zimbuzz) Probeatz, Ras Caleb, Trevor Dongo, Prayersoul, Vera, Sokostina, Rumbi Moyo (Power FM), Candice, Skimbo, Boss Kedha, Fungai Nengare, Leonard Mapfumo, Cindy Munyavi and many more.

“The idea of the event is to amplify the message on HIV/AIDS to young people who are more vulnerable by using the voice of known personalities as part of our concerted effort towards an HIV Free generation,” said Plot Mhako Projects Director.

Step Up to HIV is a Jibilika run dance and music project that engages young people in promoting an HIV and AIDS free generation. The project uses popular youth culture as a medium to ‘step up’ the fight against HIV and AIDS.

“We recognise the power of popular culture like Hip-Hop to positively transform people and their communities, hence in Step Up 2 HIV a project we have been running in schools and communities since 2013.

 “We are roping in celebrities and public figures in an effort to make a positive social impact as our country moves towards an HIV Free generation. Globally celebrities have proven to be effective social influencers and drivers of positive change,” he added.
