Faraii Releases Single Dedicated To African Queens

Recording artist Faraii, has released his first single of the year titled Uthando (Zulu for love).

The young Zimbabwean artist roped in South African singer-songwriter Lindo Summer (The Voice SA Season 2 Top 16) and Botswana rapper One Take to create a feel-good song appreciating the queens all over the African continent.

The mid-tempo Afrocentric vibe coupled with seamless Shona, Zulu and English lines will either have you singing along, dancing along, or most probably both.

Faraii, who was born in Zimbabwe, raised in South Africa, and currently based in Botswana decided to bring together artists from these countries to show the beauty in collaboration and that a common passion can bring different people together.

Premised on the backdrop of black women holding the crowns of 5 major beauty pageants, it made sense to dedicate the love song to the women who have been for too long been overlooked in society.

“The song took quite some time to make and release, but it was definitely worth it. This is by far my favourite song to date, and I am glad you finally get to hear it.

Dear African Queen, this one is for you. Fellas don’t be afraid to dedicate this to your significant other,” said Faraii.

The single is available for streaming and download here
