Mutorori by Kilamani is perfectly primed for the dance floor, yet tackling social issues as diverse as drug abuse, peddling the word of God, prostitution and witchcraft.
Born Clemence Kilamani Mamvura the Kwekwe-bred dancehall star sings his heart out in this new jam that is already enjoying massive rotation on national radio.
Emerging on the scene first in 2012 when he dropped his studio album titled Nyama Yenyama Yangu produced by Adelaide Hoodstar Sitandi, Kilamani hopes to continue on the same pedestal.
Working with certified hitmaker producer Dj Fydale has provided him with a different vibe to his style, although he has worked with other big-name producers such as T Man, Samcris, Cashlibs, and Alvan K.
“I was involved in music at a young age. I started singing in the church choir as well as the School choir,” said Kilamani
“I started creating my own songs at the age of 14 and I was inspired by Decibel.”
Like many of his peers from outside Harare, he bemoans the shunning of artists from the small cities by both promoters and radio stations.
“My musical journey has not been an easy road due to lack of funding and also most of the promoters focus on those who have bigger names already,” he said.
