HD & Blackways and Culture K Join Exciting UK Mbira Festival 2026 Line-up

The countdown to the UK Mbira Festival 2026 has begun, with organisers confirming that HD & Blackways Band and Culture K have officially joined an already impressive line-up of artists for one of the United Kingdom’s biggest celebrations of Zimbabwean culture and heritage.

The festival will take place on Saturday, 5 September 2026, at the Magnet Centre, Park Approach, Birmingham, B23 7SJ, bringing together Zimbabweans from across the UK and visitors from around the world for a day of music, culture, food, arts and traditional celebrations.

The UK Mbira Festival has become a platform dedicated to preserving and promoting Zimbabwe’s rich cultural heritage through the sacred sounds of the mbira, while also showcasing traditional dance, storytelling, crafts and authentic Zimbabwean cuisine.

It provides an opportunity for younger generations born and raised in the diaspora to reconnect with their cultural identity and roots.

The addition of HD & Blackways Band and Culture K strengthens an already diverse programme that celebrates both traditional and contemporary Zimbabwean music.

Festival-goers can also look forward to performances by:

Organisers say this year’s festival promises to be bigger than ever, bringing together internationally recognised performers alongside talented UK-based artists in a celebration of Zimbabwe’s cultural diversity.

Beyond the music, visitors will enjoy cultural exhibitions, traditional food, arts and crafts, family entertainment and opportunities to learn more about the history and significance of the mbira as one of Zimbabwe’s most treasured cultural instruments.

The festival also aims to strengthen cultural ties between Zimbabwe and the diaspora while introducing Zimbabwean traditions to wider audiences in the United Kingdom.

With the line-up continuing to grow and excitement building, the UK Mbira Festival 2026 is expected to attract audiences from across Britain and beyond, making Birmingham the home of Zimbabwean culture for the day.

Tickets are available through the festival’s official channels, and members of the public are encouraged to secure their places early for what promises to be a memorable celebration of Zimbabwean heritage.
