Following our announcement of a deferral of our show to a later date citing advice proffered by our on-site engineer, we have since rectified the concern.
We are pleased to inform you that the Tekno show scheduled for Friday, November 24 will STILL go ahead AS PLANNED. We heeded the concerns of the fans who implored us to fix the concerns.
Please note that we will announce early bird ticket selling points as soon as possible and look forward to hosting our fans in what should be an epic entertainment extravaganza.
Thanking you and hoping to see you this Friday, November 24 at Alexandra Sports Club. Patrick Vijay Hundu: For and on behalf of Triplife Entertainment.
Organisers of the Tekno Show Triplife Entertainment have cancelled the gig which was scheduled to take place this Friday, November 24, 2017, at Alexandra Sports Club in Harare.
Tekno
In a statement released this afternoon, they cited the ‘safety of the fans’ as a chief reason for the postponement of the gig.
“Fellow Zimbabweans; due to unforeseen circumstances, we have been forced, by mutual consent with the artiste Tekno and other artistes on the bill, to move the show initially slated for Alexandra Sports Club on Friday, November 24, 2017, to another date,” read the statement.
“While we had been adequately covered for the weather factor, other electrical logistics to ensure the smooth running of the event without projected rain being an impediment have arisen. We have absolutely no control over these factors.
“As they can affect the technical aspect of the show and safety of the fans, the artiste has agreed to move the event to a later date when an indoors venue has been secured to ensure a smooth, unhindered and safe event,” added the statement.
Tekno is however scheduled to perform in the country sometime in February next year for a Valentine’s Day show as it is the closest date that he will be available for a gig.
“In that spirit, the show shall adopt a Valentine’s theme and will, therefore, be held on February 16 of 2018 at the Harare International Conference Centre. This is the earliest convenience that the main artiste Tekno, can be available for a deferral,” promised the organisers.
Following the Military intervention last week to save the country from economic collapse which was being spearheaded by a Grace Mugabe-led faction, speculation was high that her sons were behind the gig.
This saw various people advocating for the boycott of the show saying the Mugabe Sons had benefited from stolen funds.
The calls grew after the military solidarity march on Saturday where people called for the resignation of President Mugabe
However, their involvement in the show is not clear although they have posted pictures about the Triplife gigs on their social media accounts.
Below is the full Statement from the organisers

This is the earliest convenience that the main artiste Tekno, can be available for a deferral. We shall continue to liaise with the local artistes previously on the billing to ensure their schedule has them free to perform on the said date.
In the meantime, in line with our ever growing desire to see world class entertainment brought to our shores, we are currently in negotiations with other international acts whose schedules are free, to try and secure festive season shows for the benefit of our supporters and music lovers in general before the end of this year, logistics permitting.
As the obstacles we faced were of a purely health and safety matter, we realised that the safety of the crowd comes way ahead of any other concerns and our electrical engineers are happy we have taken this bold, although unfortunate decision based on their advice.
We apologise for any inconvenience these changes may have caused and look forward to a continued strong relationship and creating a formidable growth trajectory in promoting the arts for both local and international artistes.
With profound thanks; Patrick Vijay Hundu : for and on behalf of Triplife Entertainment
ZBC News Online Facebook viewership has hit more than a million views since the Military took over the State Broadcaster last week to announce its operation to weed out corrupt Zanu PF officials.
General Constantine Chiwenga
The broadcaster has since its facebook launch not attracted a sizeable viewership with those watching only doing so to mock its shallow content.
But things have changed at least for the past eight days as people expect updates from the Military on their operation code named Operation Restore Legacy.
First to break the record was the broadcast of the Solidarity march Saturday 18 November which attracted more than 227 000 views.
Thousands of Zimbabweans took to the streets of Harare to march in Solidarity with The Zimbabwe Army thanking them for saving the country from the current collapse it was getting into.
The march was also broadcast across foreign media channels and the ZBC News Online Facebook page also competed for viewership with conventional media houses.
The most watch broadcast thus far is Sunday 19 November’s broadcast where President Mugabe addressed the nation, the speech was widely expected to announce his resignation, it has so far been streamed more than 588 000 times.
From November 14 up to last night 20 November the news has been streamed more than a million times.
These statistics also include the Main 8 pm news, Nhau/Indaba which shows 6 pm and the lunchtime news.
With Parliament likey to impeach the President today when it seats, the announcement if broadcast live, is expected to also add to the staggering online viewership the State Broadcaster has been enjoying.
The Sartuday solidarity march gave Zimbabweans from all walks of life hope and courage to question some actions which were taken of late under President Robert Mugabe reports Zimbuzz’ Donald Gwasira, who is also a Journalism Student the University of Zimbabwe.

University of Zimbabwe students marched today against the doctorate which was given to the first lady of Zimbabwe Dr Grace Mugabe.
Students demanded an explanation from the Vice Chancellor Levi Nyagura who is also under pressure from the students to resign as Students assembled outside the main campus library Monday morning
Due to the situation on campus and in the country the Acting Deputy Registrar Academic issued out a notice to all students.
The notice read,“Please be advised that November/December 2017 examinations have been deffered until further notice .”
However, it emerged that the University has announced that the institution will now close business tomorrow and exams will now be written from January 8 to January 24, 2018.
Meanwhile, students are now likely to return to campus following an announcement by the Commander of the Defence forces encouraging them to value their education.
“Students at the country’s various institutions are encouraged to be calm and to proceed with their educational programmes as scheduled,” said General Chiwenga.
“They need to remember that, one day of education lost is difficult to recover. Once again, as theZimbabwee defence and security services, we pay particular tribute to all Zimbabweans for the regard and support shown to us during the execution.”
The streets of Harare Saturday were filled with jubilance as Zimbabweans celebrated the impending fall of a dictator – Robert Mugabe, but its a different story on the streets of Twitter.
Ruvheneko – Picture Facebook
Ruvheneko, daughter of Zimbabwe’s current Health Minister David Parirenyatwa is experiencing a Twitter roast from Twimbos as they express their disgust at her father.
Her father David Parirenyatwa was appointed Minister of Health and Child Welfare by Robert Mugabe in 2002 replacing a sick Timothy Stamps at that time.
He has since presided over the collapse of Zimbabwe’s Health System to such levels that Government Hospitals are seen by many as a death sentence.
It is against that background that during the week that the Zimbabwe Army has taken control of the Government affairs that anything that Ruvheneko blogs on Twitter is greeted with insults.
Of all her Tweets since the Military took control to sweep away Zanu PF criminals, the below attracted lots of fury.
Zimbabweans: how about a social media challenge: Stay off Social Media for just 1 hour. Call it a fast if you will, for whatever outcome YOU want in your heart. I will stay on as the monitor?

Last night almost the whole country went to bed confused about what had just happened on ZTV, Zimbabwean celebrities from across the country also expressed their opinions about a defiant Mugabe.
Everyone was expecting that Robert Mugabe will address the country he led (misled) for 37 years for the last time as its President, but alas, the old man pulled a shocker and did not resign.
Below are some of the reactions from Zimbabwe celebrities

From the dramatic set, resplendent in strobe and laser lights, to the black lacquered stage that made the Top Two look like they were gliding on water, Carnival City’s Big Top Arena was the perfect setting for Idols SA final showdown.
Paxton
Facing off was Paxton Fielies, 17, from Bishop Lavis in the Western Cape, against Mthokozisi Ndaba, 25, from KwaMashu in KwaZulu-Natal.
After months of battling it out in a bruising contest that started with thousands of hopefuls, Paxton and Mthokozisi showed the country just why they were the last two standing.
But before the nail-biting announcement of the Season 13 winner, Idols SA put on a dazzling showcase of homegrown talent that saw the stage feature one formidable act after the other.
This season’s Top 10 opened the two-hour display of showmanship with a high-octane performance of, ‘Four Five Seconds’ by Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney.
The pageantry continued with special medleys and mixes featuring DJ Tira & Destruction Boys, Tipcee, Naak MusiQ, Madness, Season 12 winner Noma, Judge Somizi and Heavy K, Kwesta, TLT, ChianoSky, and KidX.
Season 13 vocal coach, Donald also gave the audience and viewers a taste of his Red Mic Experience when he took to the stage to perform ‘Landela’, featuring the Top 10. It was a magnificent display.
There was also a touch of nostalgia courtesy of Boom Shaka and TKZee, who performed a medley of their cool kwaito hits that had the full-capacity audience on their feet.
This was also the season of record-breaking votes, with 98 million votes recorded for Season 13, while a staggering 30 million-plus votes were cast in the last week for the Top Two.
Paxton and Mthokozisi were not stingy with their golden voices either last night. Accompanied by the multi-award-winning Soweto Gospel Choir, Paxton performed ‘Stand Up for Love’ by Destiny’s Child and Mthokozisi sang R. Kelly’s The Storm Is Over.
They also collaborated on a remix of ‘Back To The Beach’ by Kyle Deutsch and Shekinah.
It was a fitting swan song for the two as they stood together on the Idols stage for the last time before Paxton was crowned the winner of Idols SA Season 13!
The rumour which circulated last week was sparked by Pokello’s silence on her husband’s birthday.
Eliken was celebrating his birthday on November 7 but of the many birthday wishes sent across social media Pokello’s did not feature.
This saw Ghana go gaga upon the realisation that Polikemas they are known to the Big Brother family, could actually have come to an end.
Of all the times they have been together they have both celebrated each other’s birthday using the medium of social media.
Zimbuzz tried to reach out to Pokellobut her number was not going through.
However, Elikem could neither deny nor confirm that the couple had divorced.
“Why are people dwelling on what is on social media… I don’t understand why because there hasn’t been a post where people will not want to jump to conclusion to say A, B or C.
“Secondly, I am not ready to spit out what’s private at home out on air to say yes I am divorced or no I am not divorced so whether there is a divorce or not, I’m sure it is not anyone’s business so to speak,” he told JoyNews’ MzGee.
“People like to keep their lives private at a certain point in time, maybe we are used to people who like to post stuff… It’s not important for people to want to find out.
“We haven’t been posting on social media anymore but we haven’t also posted whether we are or we are not so why do people just want to jump into conclusion and say we are not because there is no social media post,” he added.
Queen of Swagger Pokello Nare just got swagged up with a big endorsement from a local car dealership which will see her drive the lastest poshy wheels.

The deal Zimbuzz was told, will in part involve Pokello being the face of the brand as well as being the choice to drive in top of the range vehicles.
The monetary value and duration of the deal were not specified but its believed to be a lengthy period spanning over a year.
Pokello is one of Zimbabwe’s most valuable celebrities and her marriage to Superstrada couldn’t have come at a better time.
Already the influential Pokello has a clothing endorsement with local retailer Brands for Less and she also is the first female celebrity in Africa to own a shoe range, the Pink Bottoms collection.
