The Vine Music Group launches first Album

The Vine Music group has been on an upward trajectory for a few years running and have toured the region sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in music.

All that hard work and experience has now culminated in the Harare City Centre Seventh Day Adventist Church based group recording their first album.

The Vine Music are set to release their debut studio album, ‘Musandipfuure’ this Sunday, November 25  at the giant Harare International Conference Centre.

The group has a special mandate, to bridge the praise and worship experience gap and bring a solemn sound supported by instruments within the Adventist culture of music.

The concert will kick off at 16:00hrs for the red carpet entrance and at 17:00hrs the concert begins.

The group has invited a full 40 piece orchestra set, opera singers and a live band to support them in their launch.

“We will have surprise acts from South African gospel greats who will perform on the day and this will be a first in the gospel industry in Zimbabwe for an Acapella group to perform accompanied by such musical excellence,” said the organisers.

The concert will be a free concert and people can visit their website, social media platforms for a link to book their tickets and secure a seat.

“This will enable a smooth flow of logistics on the day of the event. The concert will begin at exactly 17:00hrs since we are working with an orchestra and they work on an hourly basis,” they said.

The Orchestra Experience is an interactive 90-minute event with a live orchestra that explores leadership, collaboration, diversity and creativity through the metaphor of music.

The participants are seated within the orchestra from where they can witness the extraordinary power of music to convey ideas and emotions.

The session begins with a performance of an inspiring piece of symphonic music, giving the participants an opportunity to observe the pivotal role of the conductor and the extraordinary interplay between the players.

This is followed by a series of carefully crafted exercises that facilitate a discussion between the participants, conductor and musicians about how playing in an orchestra mirrors a business environment.

Freedom for now as Ginimbi is released on Bail

Colourful social media character and businessman Genius Kadungure was late Tuesday afternoon granted bail by the High Court.

He was released on $1000 bail and will surrender title deeds of his Borrowdale home as part of the bail conditions.

Harare High Court judge Justice Tawanda Chitapi heard the case over the weekend when his lawyer Jonathan Samukange appealed the decision at the High Court

Harare Magistrate Bianca Makwande had initially denied his bail application arguing that granting him bail would not be in the interest of justice as he is facing a number of serious cases of fraud.

She also said that he is a flight risk as he has an established base in South Africa.
Genius Kadungure who spent the weekend in remand prison paid bail for 50 people at the Harare Remand Prison who were failing to raise bail fees ranging from $50 to $500.

The State argues that between February 2009 and May 2016, Kadungure, with the alleged intention of evading paying Value Added Tax, made a misrepresentation to Zimra that he had made total sales of $2 777 678 inclusive, instead of the actual $9 092 951.

The alleged offence came to light when Zimra conducted an investigation into the activities of Piko Trading.

It is further alleged that in 2015, Zimra conducted lifestyle audits of socialites after observing their excessive expenditure, which was not matching their tax declarations.

Zimra officials interviewed Ginimbi on March 2, 2016, during which he indicated that he owns a residential property in Domboshawa valued at $200 000, a Rolls-Royce motor vehicle valued at R4 million, a Bentley valued at $500 000, a Range Rover valued at R1,1 million, a Mercedes Benz valued at R1m.

Kadungure also advised Zimra that he owns furniture worth several thousands of dollars in Domboshawa, but failed to prove the source of his income.

It is also alleged that investigations by Zimra revealed that between January 2010 and December 2015, Kadungure did not declare income amounting to over $9 million from sales realised out of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and $1 191 713 being the value of the properties.

As a result, an income tax of $2 134 549 and $306 866 were raised in terms of Section 6 of the Income Tax Act, which he was supposed to pay to Zimra.

Mathias Mhere, latest star to pull out of the Peace and Family Festival

Gospel singer Mathias Mhere has become the latest singer to pull out of Wednesday’s Peace and Family Festival to be held at the National Sports Stadium.

The event will be graced by the Unification Church’s controversial leader Hak Ja Han Moon

President Emmerson Mnangagwa is also set to make an address at the festival.

Reports suggest other musicians like Minister Michael Mahendere and Janet Manyowa withdrew from the concert citing different doctrine beliefs with Hak Ja Han Moon.

“Following discussions with the AFM church leadership, taking into consideration the statements presented by the Evangelical Fellowship Of Zimbabwe(EFZ) and the Zimbabwe Council Of Churches (ZCC) towards the event called the Peace and Family Festival being hosted by Dr Hak Ja Han Moon and also to protect my brand Mathias Mhere Music i Mathias Mhere have decided to pull out of the Festival that is slated for tomorrow Wednesday 21 November at the National Sports Stadium,” said Mhere in statement.

“I have noted that the above-mentioned lady is not a christian and i as a christian has seen it not fit for me to be associated with the event she is hosting.”

The Zimbabwe Council Of Churches also released a brief statement regarding the event.

“Zimbabweans, especially Christians have been raising anxious questions regarding the impending visit of the leader of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification.

“As ZCC in light of our convictions and Christian traditions, we do not identify with the teachings and practices of this movement and therefore we will not participate in their event,” read the statement.

The Unification movement believes that God’s original intent was for Jesus to form a perfect marriage in order to redeem humanity and undo the harm perpetrated by Adam and Eve.

Because Jesus (the second Adam) was executed before accomplishing his mission, a third Adam was needed to form this perfect marriage and complete Jesus’s task.

This “third Adam” would be recognized as the second coming of Christ. As the perfect man he would marry the perfect woman and become the “true spiritual parents of humankind.”

Members of the Unification Church regard Moon and his second wife, Hak Ja Han, as these “True Parents.” Married couples and their families within the movement are regarded as the “True Children” and linked to God through the “True Parents.”

Singer Faith Candy to strut her stuff at the Miss Curvy Zimbabwe

Slim no longer hold the monopoly on sexy, everywhere in the world, the curvy movement has taken over, even fashion designers are now filling the runways with thick bodies.

A scroll through Instagram’s most popular pages you will find that it is the curvy models that are trending and have attracted hundreds of thousands and in some instances million of followers.

But before the rest of the world joined in on the craze, Zimbabwe was already hosting the Miss Curvy, the brain child of Mercy Mushaninga.

You will remember Tanya Chikuni? Of course you do! The Miss Curvy 2011 remains the most popular face or it curvaceous lady to ever win the competition.

The 2018 edition is back and the competition is hotter than desert temperatures, women from all four corners of Zimbabwe will battle it out on December 21 to be crowned Miss Curvy Zimbabwe.

This year is special, even celebrities are taking part, One of the contestants is singer and NAMA nominated actress Faith Candy.

The singer revealed that December won’t be the first time that she has walked on the ramp as she has won a pageant before.

“I started my modelling career at a young age, growing up I always loved posing for pictures and I loved the limelight too,” she chuckled.

“My first modelling experience was in 2004 when I entered the Miss Culture Highfield and I actually won the title but since then I have been caught up in the music industry until now that I decided to enter the Miss Curvy Zimbabwe 2018,” revealed Faith Candy.

The ramp can be scary, especially for first timers, the big crowds, the cheering or jeering crowd, the lights, all put together can make that runway look like the Dubai Airport runway.

But for Candy, music and film has offered her that experience and modelling is just an extension of her talent.

“lm not a shy person and I am used to large audiences both as a musician and actress,” she said.

But where does she get her confidence, well from a highly unlikely source – the comments from people.

“The positive compliments that I get from people have made me more comfortable in myself and each time I don a beautiful dress or gown I feel gorgeous and sexy.
