Public personalities are often known for making the news and setting fashion trends and often criticised for not doing much with their fame, But many celebrities do much more than simply start the newest upcoming trends.
Olinda Chapel is one of those that has set fashion trends (remember her $1500 shoe)
One way in which Olinda Chapel 33, who is a business woman, Philanthropist and mother of two has been doing that is through her charitable acts, but she is widening her reach to uplift more Zimbabwean women.
And with her great pulling power she is doing it with class, grace and style.
She has set herself a new goal to give back in many ways and support a number of underprivileged women through her nonprofit organisation with a focus on uplifting the girl child from the shackles of poverty.
Inspired by Melinda Gates’ words which say “At the very least, women everywhere in the world need three things to be able to reach their full potential: health, decision-making power, and economic opportunities,” the mother of two is very keen to see that she helps as many women as she can reach.
“I am starting ‘The Women’s Sorority’ program where we are going to get fifty business women to each adopt at leat one woman that they can help uplift their economic status,” she told Zimbuzz from her base in the UK.
“The event will be hosted at the Organikks in Chisipite on the 27th of May and we have already secured a number of sponsorships from the ladies who will be attending”
She added “VIP hosting through Lungi Dlodlo will take in 5 women for an internship where they will be taught flower arrangement as well as the basic of event hosting.
“Cynthia Buzire through Jan Jam will also adopt another woman for mentoring and assistance.”
Other corporates that are jumping on board with the programme are Afro Kings, a UK-based promoter, Swiss Freight, Coedma Freight, Clay Freight to name but a few.
A lot of women have reached out to Olinda to support this very worthy cause. Donations of pads and pledges of paying school fees have been coming in none stop from women worldwide. Is it safe to say somehow Olinda has stolen the hearts of many women . . . Maybe men too?
On Sunday the 28th Olinda and her team will head to the rural areas where she will make a donation ranging from food to sanitary pads with a total of 10 000 packs of pads reaching 5000 girls.
From the 28th to the 4th of May she will lead a team that will be donating food hampers to underprivileged homes with a target of reaching 100 families
“I will also be sending one underprivileged student to the University of Zimbabwe through my charity organisation Olinda Chapel Foundation,” she said.
Clearly, Olinda is making her Lemonade after making the headlines because of a very bad break up.
