In October 2016 Karen Paida made history as she became a runner-up in the DStv TLC Next Great Presenter.
Before that, she was also a presenter with Nafuna TV and in just over two years she has become a household name in the broadcasting industry.
Her striking red carpet dresses, flashing smile in front of the camera and those sweet giggles she makes on Capitalk FM radio have made us to crush on her and make her our #WCE
In a nutshell who is Karen and how did your Broadcasting/Media career begin.
My career began 4 years ago when I started off at Dants Media publishers for Jewel Magazine.
I gained my interest for broadcast there and started off behind the camera. I got in front of the camera by accident as an experiment and when it worked I stuck with it.
Now I’ve also ventured into radio and I can’t get enough of the thrill of being on the mic.
How long have you been a radio presenter and how are you finding the job.
I’ve been in radio for a year and a half now. It’s the most satisfying job because you can be yourself.
Tell us something about your job, other than money, that you love the most and has inspired you to keep working there.
It’s the inspiration you get from different guests that you invite to the studio and the knowledge I get not only from my guests but even from the listeners.
I’ll tell you something, radio is the perfect place for you to find yourself.
The most treasured item in your closet is….
Hmm, jewellery. Diamonds are a girl’s best friend. Lol
When I’m at work I love wearing….
Heels. Now I don’t wear them often but I do wear them on important occasions like when I have a meeting or something.
It’s like they give you that extra boost of confidence. ( Even though they are sore sometimes )
I would never be caught dead wearing…
Those Nikki Minaj shades that look like a hat. I know it’s fashion but common
My guilty pleasure is…
Food. I love to eat

I’m actually very shy, I open up to people when they know me. I literally have to psych myself up every time before I get on camera or I speak in front of an audience
How does Karen relax when not working…your life’s passions other than your job
Well, I watch a lot of series and read as well.. I also like to go out and socialize with others.
So you can say I’ve got the best of both worlds here being both an introvert and an extrovert lol
