The Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe is preparing for one of its largest youth gatherings yet, with organisers expecting more than 100,000 young people to converge on Rufaro Conference Centre in Chatsworth from April 9 to 12 for the National Youth Elevation Conference.

The four-day event is being framed as both a spiritual rally and a broader effort to equip young people with practical tools for life beyond the church.

Organisers say the conference will bring together worship, preaching, leadership training and community service under one roof.

AFM in Zimbabwe, President Rev. Dr Amon D. Madawo will lead the conference’s opening spiritual direction and has urged young people to return with fresh expectations.

“Do it again this year,” he told the church youth, referring to the movement’s momentum from previous gatherings.

He will be joined by a lineup of speakers that includes Pastor B. Shonhiwa, the national youth leader; Pastor Thandanani Savhasa of AFM South Africa, who also serves as AFM International Youth President; and Pastor RB Matewe.

Organisers say the speakers have been selected to deliver messages centred on spiritual growth, leadership and personal discipline.

The conference will feature ministry from some of southern Africa’s most recognisable gospel acts, including Zimpraise Choir, which will mark 20 years with a special “Zimpraise Legacy Night,” as well as Takesure Zamar, Joyfull Praise Choir and South Africa’s Sbu Noah.

Other artists on the program include Unveiled, Worshipper L Gunda, Nyasha Mutonhori, Baba and Mai Cherai, Vabati VaJehova and Wesley Nyamukuta.

The conference will also serve as a platform to encourage youth development through sessions on entrepreneurship, academic excellence and leadership.

Those who will attend are being encouraged to donate towards the Rufaro Clinic building project, a youth-led initiative aimed at improving healthcare access in the region.

By combining ministry, music and community service, AFM leaders say the conference is designed to speak to both the spiritual and practical needs of young people.
