With exactly 16days left for Zimbabweans to speak out through a ballot box Winky D has delivered some leadership bars.
Riding on Tman’s heavy baseline Elders Riddim, The Gafa asks for a chance to sit in parliament and close a gap that is leading to the social ills left unaddressed in his new single Parliament.
“Hapachada mafun apa pakuda chiGafa muparamende, Ndipei mukana pakaboka ndivhare vende….” says Winky D in one of the lines.
Parliament is a mind-opening track to high-density suburbs residents where one become a Member of Parliament who only shows up during election time and have less knowledge on their daily life routine.
In as much Zimbabwe’s high-density suburbs have literally become a hallmark of social vices most of which are chat topping, MPs from such areas merely address key issues in Parliament.
As problems seem not to disappear and the angels are yet to save, Winky D now ask for the Speaker of Parliament to go down to the Ghetto and discover how the social ills have been a societal cancer of late to the youths.
“Point of order Mr Speaker paGhetto ndinokumbira kuti dai masvika, hapamboda zvekutumira huyai mega muzvionere kuti maGhetto youth akasticker”
The mention of House of Hunger writer Dambudzo Marechera is a personification that would make it easy for senior citizens to understand how youths are living including the learned ones.
But the message seemed to be directed at President ED whose second name is Dambudzo.
Winky D who grew up in Kambuzuma has been always expressing his concern and a deep pain with how ghetto youths are shortening their lifespan.
Can this track be a hint that they he Gombwe wants a Parliament seat as an independent candidate? But again his hope can only be in the next five years.
With how comically-painful the Parliament sessions are it’s high time to have meaningful discussions and top-notch solutions or ideas so – “Hapachada mafun pakuda chiGafa muParamende” says Winky D in Gafa Chete chorus.
