How ExQ found Love on a Snowy Day

ONCE Upon a time, hip-hop gathered around dusty corners and mourned the death of groove rappers.

A scene from the video

Spectators spoke of how the urban groove legends had drifted off into nothing.

In a plot twist that no one saw coming ExQ has become the one man gang to the rescue.

2016 -2017 has been the year that the man formerly known as musalala blossomed into the chart-topping Mr Putiti.

His work this year won’t stop coming as he recently unveiled a great video with Tanzania star Lulu Diva ( No seriously her name has Diva in it, No Joking )

The song is ‘Do Me Good’, which essentially is about well, doing …….. and umm as a devout Christian I can not go further with that meaning.

The essence of the song is do me good and I will marry you because that is the norm right? Right? Uhuh thought so.

The visuals of this video are amazing, It has that element of a snowy Christmas that most of us Zimbos or Tanzanians will never experience.

If you listen to the audio really good you will hear low-key Santa sleigh bells …or maybe I am really looking forward to the Christmas break.

The scenes alternate between grey backgrounds with snow, and a really cool looking wall-corner that transforms into a cool art space.

The fashion is amazing!!! ExQ always looks dapper and really represented Hip Hop beard gang with sleek, comfortable, simple but expensive looks.

Miss Lulu was well Diva-ish with pink coloured hair, fur coats cause well snow.

They gave us that retro feel currently on runways through Denim outfits then switched it up to classy bae goals with a white and gold coordinated outfits.

Their chemistry is amazing with each singer being as bright on their own as when they have scenes together

The song is catchy and of course, he made her sing Shona, cause MTM taking Shona the world right?

How Gonyeti Drove Away with Shoko Festival Passengers

She went on that grand Shoko Festival stage hoping she would make the crowd laugh and leave some indelible memories in people’s hearts.

Gonyeti

Gonyeti did more than just that.

Samantha Kureya as is her real name completely abandoned the reality that she was indeed entertaining an audience, after all, she was paid to do that.

In fact, she was just herself, conversing with the crowd like she was having a chat with her pals Luckie, Maggie and Silvia at Bustop TV.

And boy did she produce magic!!

She slew the set, made people laugh like we were testing our newly installed lungs, had her set been longer she surely would have ended up performing for a ‘dead’ audience rolling in that red soil at the Museum Library.

Gonyeti’s jokes were very relatable and real, she touched on so many subjects, but it was her first joke that had people drawn to her.

In her opening act, she did the unusual, poked fun at herself.

According to her, she said she doesn’t have a big rear because she has had a good life.

She always uses a vehicle to run even the smallest of errands and when she was little she would ride in a pram, so there was no way possible that she would grow a booty.

‘If you see a girl with a big backside, then you know she has never experienced a good life because she is constantly walking’ she said attracting wild laughs from the crowd.

What would follow was a series of jokes packaged in a distinct rhythmic way,  showing just how much she had prepared for this show, remember she is an actress who honed her skills doing five-minute skits and has no experience with doing a comedy set that lasts in excess of 20 mins.

Whilst most comedian these days are creating their content around the political happenings, her set only included one such with the rest being about sex, fellow celebrities, second-hand clothes and the fuller figured women.

In case she might want to use the same material on her next gig, I shall not pre-empt the rest of her set, But next time you see her on a comedy poster, buy that ticket without hesitance.

And Oh, did I mention she did all this in her native Shona language!!

Ruvheneko Announced as TelOne Ambassador, And What We can Expect

From her days at ZiFM to her ingenious Facebook Live programme, Ruvheneko Parirenyatwa has earned herself unparalleled influence and status as one of the most powerful Radion/TV hosts of our time.

Ruvheneko

Whether she is interviewing a Political figure, sportsperson, artist or businesspeople, she does it in the most incisive of ways.

Despite being a daughter of a Government Minister Ruvhi, as her friends call her, has conducted political interviews where she has asked questions her peers in TV and radio dare not.

But it’s her charm and charisma that has landed her big interviews, Ruvheneko made history by becoming the first Radio host to interview MDC T President Mr Morgan Tsvangirayi.

Her brand has grown in value such that huge corporates are falling on each other to have her as a brand ambassador.

A few days after her birthday she announced on her official Facebook Page on Tuesday that she had been appointed the brand ambassador for the country’s oldest telecommunication company, TelOne.

Although she couldn’t divulge much into the contents of her deal and how much its worth, Ruvhi gave us an insight into what Telone seeks to achieve through her appointment.

“Telone is embarking on a new product offering for the Zimbabwe market, so they are trying to do things differently and trying to be more up to date with their market,” she said.

“And of course they have to be a huge appeal to the youth market, although everybody is on the internet now, there is a bias toward our generation.”

Ruvheneko also said that Telone’s growth had been solid in their growth and their diversity and that the ADSL product is reliable and now with their offering of fibre, the story can only get better.

As corporates begin to unlock value in our local celebrities, it’s encouraging to note that they see that celebrities certify the brand’s claim and position by extending their popularity to their fans.

The Zimbabwean entertainment industry has for long been clamouring the lack of corporate involvement but the coming on board of such companies is widely viewed as a step in right direction.

But of course, it takes more than just mere popularity for a celebrity to convince a company to pour thousands into them, but celebrities such as Ruvheneko, Cindy, Jah Prayzah Winky D, ExQ just to name but a few have landed themselves some huge money endorsements

“P Square is No More”

They wowed us with their infectious melodies from as early as 2003 and ever since they have enjoyed love and admiration not only in Zimbabwe but the whole of Africa.

P-Square Pic by BBC

And Zimbabwe was also privileged to have hosted them for a sold-out show.

Nigeria pop twins Peter and Paul Okoye were the headline act at the Lion Lager Summer Beer Festival that took place at the Glamis Arena on October 13, 2012.

Zimbuzz on Thursday carried an exclusive report that the multi-awarding winning group had collaborated with Jah Prayzah on a song titled ‘The Song for Africa’ which also features Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Nigeria’s P-Square, Akon, Youssou N’Dour, and DRC’s Fally Ipupa.

But news reaching us from Nigeria is that the duo could soon become history as the feud between the brothers has reached peak high.

According to Nigeria media reports this week, Peter Okoye, one of the twin singing sensation,  reportedly sent a termination letter to their lawyer, Festus Keyamo, demanding a termination of the partnership agreement between the duo.

Speaking to Linda Ikejis Blog, Peter confirmed the sad development, saying; “Psquare is no more. I have nothing against my brothers. I saw Paul’s post on Instagram about blood being thicker than water.”

“Who is water and who is blood?” Peter asked.

In the leaked Termination Letter Peter reveals that his brothers were threatening his life and family.

“Me and my wife have been getting life-threatening messages and I fear for my life and the life of my family,” he stated.

”Remember Jude has threatened to kill me and shoot my wife in the presence of Paul and Mrs Imoke,” he said.

Their fans would recall that back in 2016 the group split up over differences concerning their elder brother Jude who happens to be their manager.

Yesterday, a video was also leaked via Linda Ikeji’s Blog, showing the three brothers engaged in a heated physical confrontation at their lawyer’s office.

This is a developing story, more updates to follow
