Oskid and the Kid

He is the country’s hottest and most sought after producer and as it looks, he might be on the summit for a very long time to come. But the young music producer is a proud dad to little Marvel Prince Tapfuma ….but we prefer to call him ‘Kid’

Oskid and the Kid
Oskid and the Kid

We loved every cute moment when Oskid rose from his seat holding little ‘Kid’ to go and receive his ZIMA Award for Producer of the Year.  Proud Dad moment! (We still have a crush on that moment)

He might be young (23) but Oskid, real name Prince Tapfuma says he is enjoying every bit of it. (Is he enjoying the stinking work of changing diapers as well ?? Hahaha!!)

With a bundle of joy in the house as well as a bundle of awards (Ya, they can be bundled up) we asked Oskid what it was like being with his ‘Kid.’

Oskid and son Marvel Prince Tapfuma
That cute moment…..

“My son will be turning one in April and family is always my priority, I love them to bits,” he said.

But does he have any hopes of the little man following in his footsteps?

“I want my son to follow his heart and passion, if he doesn’t like music and prefers soccer, it’s fine for me because with my parents I didn’t get the opportunity to do what I really wanted.

“Maybe if I had received support, I would have become famous at 5yrs,” he added

But by the look of things Marvel Prince is already showing some signs of marvellous music ‘talents’.

Rarama Mudendere
Rarama mudendere…..

“My son is amazing he sometimes makes some sounds when I’m listening to music and when he cries I will be backing him up with some instruments, adding some bass to his crying and coming up with a melody.

“I know it’s silly and the mum doesn’t like it at all, but to me it will be a father-son combination, making our music,” he said with a chuckle.

NOW READ: Dineo’s Diary season 5 is back

It’s family values and personal growth in Dineo’s Diary season 5

Something to look forward to this April as the outspoken, witty and glamorous queen of reality TV, Dineo Ranaka returns for the 5th season of Dineo’s Diary.

Over the years, we’ve seen Dineo evolve as an individual facing personal and family drama that helped mold her into the success she has become.

This season Dineo promises her fans a more “centered self”, as she reveals that she’ll continue on her journey of self-discovery and truly unearth her core.

Who better to share her growth, life experiences, and journey than the loyal fans who have followed her since the very first season of her show.

“I am no longer confused, I am content with the woman I have become, flaws and all,” says Dineo.

The “more adjusted” Dineo explains that she has grown to understand the value of setting boundaries with a number of people in her life.

While she is embracing her path and all that life throws at her, in this season we see more of her motherly side, her being more sensitive, considerate and grown up, although it would not be Dineo’s Diary without a consistent dose of drama.

M-Net Local Entertainment’s Head of Reality, Sphumelele Sibeko affirms that the channel continues to enjoy and explore its already established talents, “we truly believe Dineo is a gem, she is accessible and real, most of all, she is a talented woman whom a range of young adults can relate to.

While this season offers something different, it promises to be just as entertaining, exciting and dramatic as ever.”

The unapologetic Dineo returns with a brand new look on VUZU AMP (DStv channel 114) on Mondays at 19:00.

The multi-talented, fan-favourite IK Osakioduwa returns to host the awards for the fourth time and he will be joined by a new co-host, Minenhle ‘Minnie’ Dlamini.

Minnie Dlamini
Minnie Dlamini

Minnie broke into prominence in 2010 when she beat thousands of hopefuls in the nationwide search for a young and sassy presenter for one of South Africa’s biggest music shows.

Within months, Minnie also landed a role as the sassy Miranda on the popular soap Generations, a role which opened her up to a bigger, Pan-African audience.

Returning to host the AMVCAs for a fourth successive year, IK Osakioduwa is unarguably Africa’s biggest On Air Personality.

Articulate intelligent and quick witted, IK has wowed audiences across radio and television through his comfort and skill on the microphone.

Also, in attendance will be two of Zimbabwe’s top showbiz Journalists, Tafadzwa Zimoyo from The Herald and Tsitsi Ndambambi from Zimbojam courtesy of Multichoice.

Top 5 Videos we can’t wait to see

2016 has been a banging musical year so far with unexpected collaborations and hard-hitting singles, but sometimes a song deserves  a visual representation and below are some of the songs that are on our Video wish list. Some have already been rumored to be in works so Fingers crossed everybody!

5.   Mari Mari by Queen Vee and Souljah Love

jahqueen

This song has been received generally well by the people because it was an unorthodox coupling. The Zimdancehall Bad boy and the Classy Supermodel. Is the video going to involve twerking and clarks?  Or will it take the Hip Hop cliché route of throwing around money or will it just be a sober video?

We saw at the ZIMAs that Queen Vee can dance and put up a great performance and we are hoping against hope that they do a Video. Please note Twerking Souljah love and Clark stepping Queen Vee..Or is that Vice Versa?

   4.  Gloria – You will Shine ( Performed By Sebastian Magacha, Jah Prayzah, Sulu Chimbetu,      Alaina, Shinsoman, Selmor Mutukudzi )

In a ‘Heal the World’ move, Gloria released a song on the 1st of March, which has a strong message about believing in yourself and ultimately  shining  ( Just like the Self Raising flour they sell…we see you, Gloria). The artists line up who perform the song are quite impressive, Jah Prayzah, Sulu, Selmor, Saba, Alaina and Shinso are all talented and great artists in their own genres.

Their uniqueness combined makes for a great sing-along song..once you get over the fact that you likening yourself to flour. We hope Gloria drops a video as soon as they are done with the tour. We want to see the gelling of all these artists on one screen reflecting their differences that make them so so special.

3.   Mukoko – Ammara Brown and Tytan

IMG_5753

This Love song blew us all away when it came out, has the perfect  chorus that hits you right in the feels and gives you that “I’m the best “ feeling in a totally unassuming way ( Hona Kunaka, Mukoko, Mukoko ).

The Dance set performance of this song is pure Fire and we DEMAND a video Ammara we need to see those Africa salsa steps again so that we incorporate them into our wedding sets. The team also suggested that there should be Bees..lots and lots of bees spelling out Ammara but we were just dreaming at this point.

  2.   Tongogara – Jnr Brown

Flag of The Chinese Communist Party
The symbol which Jnr Brown has been using to promote his single Tongogara

That Raspy voice which accompanies Deep social conscious lyrics that subtly call out the class divide in our society today can only be made better by a Visual representation. By now almost everyone can sing along to Tongogara and you have seen the Onset Pictures from various players.

Some might already have the Tshirt( Dear Santa I would really like a Purple Tongogara Tee this year). Surely this Movement can only be made better by a Video. So our Notifications are On … Our wifi Bundles on point we are waiting anxiously for that Video Mr Brown.

     1.  Vanondibatsirana – Killer T and Fungisai

Or maybe as you know it Daidzai Vakuru, This is most arguably the biggest and most talked about Song this year. I mean with all the talk that Fungisai dropped her “Gospel” genre title and that she has taken up a more errm Royal genre (Empress F…Never mind).

It’s a hit song No Doubt about it, and from the pictures below it look like the Video will be a Hit too. It has Bikes and Status cars and Killer T and Fungisai coordinating their outfits #Yess #Slaying.
