EXCLUSIVE: Cindy just pulled off one of her best looks ever…as she stole the red carpet in Nigeria

She might not have won the AFRIMA Award for Best artist in Southern Africa, but Cindy definitely won the best red carpet moment at the ceremony held in Nigeria last night.

Reports coming from Nigeria say that the RNB Queen was arguably the best dressed lady and was mobbed by journalists and ended up doing at least 15 interviews on the red carpet.

Cindy who last year won the AFRIMA award was nominated for the second time in row which is a great honour on its own.

This year’s award went to South Africa’s Busiswa.

Speaking to Zimbuzz early this morning Cindy said:

“ I was greatly honoured as my images were displayed on the red carp billboard together with other African greats.”

But what was she wearing which managed to turn so many heads..here is what the diva had to say:

“I wore a white jumpsuit with a plunging neckline accessorise by pearl body chain and a tulle train finished off with Guiseppe Zanotti gladiator sandals”

She was dressed by Glamgirl an anonymous designer who creates clothes exclusively for Cindy’s Fashion Corner.

Her red carpet style was a cross between elegant, sexy and funky at the same time.

How to rock the boob-tube dress and avoid a fashion disaster – a brother’s opinion

In two weeks time we will be entering wedding season with the first Saturday coming as early as the 5th of December, so I thought it might be a good time to address the boob-tube issue.

I’m sure some of us have seen those terrible wedding pictures that went round on social media where a bride’s boobs are almost falling off and looking so tastelessly indecent.

I really don’t understand this wedding-gown-strapless-dress-craze that just hit us…Eish

Not to mention how that completely ruin wedding pictures which is one of the most important and savoury moments of a wedding.

Its summer ladies we understand, but not everyone looks good in a boob-tube just like not every man looks good in shorts especially if you have thin legs like mine.

Now for those who easily catch feelings, this article is not about body shamming but a brother’s opinion purely based on observation. (emphasis on Opinion)

Here is how you can rock a boob-tube

Gertrude Mupfumira rocks the boob-tube perfectly
Gertrude Mupfumira rocks the boob-tube perfectly

1. To rock the boob-tube dress you need to have a long slender neck and good arms

2. Defined and nicely shaped shoulders

3. The distance between your shoulders and the top of your dress should never be too long, in the picture below ZiFM News presenter Candice illustrates this point perfectly in this dress that she wore at last year’s Zimbabwe’s Fashion Week.

4. Also fitting is very important, the top shouldn’t be too tight as this end up creating folds at the back of your armpits, you would have lost the look sha.

5. I would personally advise to stay away from this piece of clothing if you have a very big bosom, for very few can pull off the look especially if it’s a wedding gown. But if you insist I think you should try a one-arm dress (assuming the plan is to show off some skin)

6.Then there is the issue of cleavage…oh dear. Cleavage is good but on a boob-tube it should be kept at the minimum minimum or totally avoided.

The most important rule about revealing clothes

This one is very important and i know some will definitely catch feelings. Each time you think of wearing something revealing You Better Have The Body To Reveal.

Now this in no way means you should cover your body from head to toe. But you would rather make heads turn in a long dress than have several vana mother pass you a zambia/sari which only you don’t understand the need for.

I know that we all have that one friend who says they don’t care what people think of them, they believe they can look good in anything.

You can’t just wear what you want, I think this also qualifies as an important rule; you wear something that enhances your beauty and assets

#MCM: DJ Mox – Your girlfriend’s favourite DJ

He calls himself your girlfriend’s favourite DJ…..our Man Crush Monday, Star Fm’s DJ Mox

DJ Mox has been on radio for 3 years now and has two shows, TXO from 12-1500hrs as well as the Looney Breakfast show 0600-0900hrs

In this picture he was presenting at last year’s Zimbabwe Music Awards and we decided to do a fashion review on it.

When we speak of French navy and white what goes through a person’s mind is the navy, sailors and the colonels.

When ones draws inspiration from such strong fashion backgrounds, adding texture through the use of the patterned patterns creates a masculine feel.

The strength of a man lies in his arms. The solid French navy and the white lines promote balance bringing about an affluent figure.

A man who understands his blues and whites is definitely a fashion contender.

When a person decides to keep it minimal with a tailored white shirt and fitted pants, the chemistry is undeniable.

Having maintained this combination was going to be ground breaking however the bow tie is too overboard as it ends up being the focal point drawing all the attention from the structured jacket.

Why Taps’ 1 million views is a BIG deal

Article written by Dzikamayi Chibaya

On Wednesday 11 November 2015, a Zimbabwean musician made history, by reaching the 1 million mark for views on YouTube. This is no other than Tapiwa Mugadza (“Taps”), a young Zimbabwean musician based in the United States of America.

Also read Hello…it’s a million views for Taps Mugadza

Ok, just so we’re clear, this article is NOT about Taps and his life story and/or musical journey and all that other relevant (yes, relevant) stuff, no. This article is about Taps’ 1 million views on YouTube for his cover of Adele’s latest hit song, “Hello” and why it’s such a big deal.

Right, I know the matter of YouTube views or any other online video views is quite a topical one as some people uphold views as a metric of quality, while others think they don’t matter much and do not resemble any real success. I’m of the school of through that agrees with the former.

To that end, let’s break down what YouTube views really mean and why Taps’ 1 million matters.

Taps-Mugadza-as-1

Viewer Engagement

YouTube counts a view after a user has watched it for about 30 seconds, meaning for one to get counted as a view, there has to be a certain level of engagement between the video and the viewer, as compared to Facebook and Instagram’s three-second criteria.

So with reaching the 1 million mark, this effectively means Taps was able to influence over a million people to watch his video for at least 30 seconds! Incredible, huh?

Further, the engagement activity, as evidenced by the thousands of shares that this video has received on social media, shows that the viewers REALLY liked it and had to share with their web friends. That’s amazing.

Milestone for Zimbabwean music

Suffice to mention that Taps is one of the first Zimbabwean artist to reach 1 million views on a YouTube video in such a short space of time.

Ok, I know Nox is one of the very VERY few Zimbabwean artists whose total YouTube views have surpassed a million, with Ndinonyara alone getting over half a million views.

However, I firmly believe the million that Taps did on a single song in 17 days is really amazing for a Zimbabwean artist and definitely deserves the pomp and fanfare that it is receiving. Shout out to you Taps!

Time to a million

As if reaching a million views is not a significant enough milestone, Taps did this in under 3 weeks!! 17 days to be exact. His Hello cover was published on the 25th of October and reached the 1 million mark on the 11th of November.

Astonishing! Please note, he reached the 500k mark on the 6th of November, meaning the positive reviews that this track received allowed it to easily amass another 500k views in five days!! Greatness.

I’m honestly not a Tapiwa Mugadza fan (although he’s a very very talented artist), but I love greatness, so he’s a winner to me.

International Recognition

Taps’ cover got rave reviews from Buzzfeed, a leading US social news and entertainment company that focuses on tracking viral content.

Taps was placed fourth out of 11 covers of Hello that Buzzfeed says are “really really really good.” Joe Thomas’ cover was third, although at the time of this article his cover was not yet at a million views.

We believe this recognition added some figures to Taps’ international views, meaning his content appealed to a wide spectrum of viewers, making it even more sensational.

With that said, I think it’s quite clear why the million mark is such a big deal, and why, if I was a Zimbo, I’d watch this video too and share it with others if I haven’t yet. It IS a big deal.
