Miss World Zimbabwe licence holder Marry Chiwenga was finally granted bail by High Court judge Pisirai Kwenda Monday after spending both Christmas and New Year in state custody.
Marry who is the estranged wife to Vice President Constantino Chiwenga was ordered to pay $50 000 bail.
As part of her bail conditions she has also been ordered to surrender her diplomatic passport, to reside at her Borrowdale residence, to surrender her father’s title deeds to a Highlands property and to report once a fortnight on Friday.
The former model was the patron and chairperson of the Miss Zimbabwe Trust until her resignation in 2018.
She is being accused of attempting to murder VP Chiwenga, illegally externalising US$1 033 000, laundering US$990 000 and fraudulently seeking to upgrade her customary union to a civil marriage without her husband’s consent.
She is also being investigated for swindling State aides of their daily allowances while in foreign lands and grabbing vehicles awarded to Miss Zimbabwe pageant winners
